Well congrads, grad school is one of those old curse deals, 'be careful what you want, you just might get it."

I did a Lasallian program in High School, it has a lot of good aspects.

Congratulations, Lisbeth!!

I got one of those letters almost two years ago from the State University in the state next door. 3 semesters later I am one semester from graduation. The study and classes aren't easy, but being at school is very enjoyable. Plus, its a great way to expand your circle of friends and to build for better employment and opportunity.

You rock, Lisbeth!!

Hugs,

Nichole

LOL, Ash, Nichole has not been looking at them in that way. Nichole is rather happily attached to her life-partner.

You naughty woman you!!

Some are rather lovely, that is true Lisbeth, but we matrons simply need to recall our ages and understand that we will never be 17-26 ever again! *sigh* Instead we instruct them in grace and class!  LOL

I'll tell you the absolute truth, Ash. It has truly never, never been anything I have even noticed much. And never noticed in terms of some sort of attraction.

The only time I have noticed it is when some 21 y/o just out of undergrad school starts talking in a class and leads with "well, in my experience..."

Then I think, "what experience would that be?" These are clinical classes and all they have ever had is field practicums, 2 semesters undergrad and 1-3 during their grad school time. Now that DOES get my notice and I cannot help but snicker to myself.

lol to be perfectly honest nichole, most of my looking is "OMG why dont i look like that!"

That is easily answered, dear Ash. Because you are not a 17-25 y/o young woman and never will be. LOL.

Congrats Lisbeth!
I have a question for you. I have been thinking about pursuing Master's in social work or counseling also. I have a BA degree in English from an East Coast State School. Any idea how long it would take me going like PT at night or would it have to be FT? Did you major in Psychology in Undergrad? Would I need to have a bunch of pysch classes before they even accepted me into a Grad progam, like get a psych degree first? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated :) Meghan

Hah!  Ever since last spring people stopped calling me "ma'am" and started calling me "miss."  Not bad for a 55 year old hag!

It very much depends on which school you are going to attend.  At Saint Mary's the part-time program is three years.  That includes the 500 hour internship.  If you need to pick up undergraduate credits in psychology, that takes extra time, but you do not need a psych degree to get in.

But if you go into a school that concentrates on doctoral candidates, that all changes.  For example, Argosy doesn't do part-time at all, which is difficult for non-traditional students.  Of course, Waldon is mostly online, though there are some classroom settings you have to attend during the summer.

One thing I would stress is being sure you know what kind of work you want to go into.  Just because a school has a psychology program, doesn't mean they have the branch you want.  If you look at counseling programs be careful.  Some counseling programs are for school guidance counselors and some are for therapists.  Be sure and pick the right one for you.  The best way is to look at their catalog and see what the courses are.

How nice. were there any changes you made to trigger it, do you suppose?

I would suppose it was a certain threshold in HRT.

lol i'd be happy with one 'ma'am'

i'd be happy with king arthur riding up and saying "hey old woman!"
I have also noticed that middle-aged men check me over and not just old geezers.
