Hi,

For reference I'm currently taking decapeptyl  and evorel 

Should this level of medication not stop my male reproductive system completely? It's depressing that there are actually people that have in the past replaced my injections with weaker doses etc. and still having erections is awful...

Was this your first injection? If so, I found that it wasn't until my 3rd injection that they went completely. On the first one there is a testosterone spike for a couple of weeks, and the second one reduced them but didn't get rid of them entirely. I also found that the effect on me wears off towards the end of the 12 week period, and I have discussed moving to every 10 weeks instead.

No dosages please, that is in the Terms of Service.

No one would change your dosages without telling you and explaining it to you. Please consult your doctor.

FYI I'm on Decapeptyl, and have also experienced it 'wearing off' after 10 weeks.

In this period my GP agreed to have my T levels measured weekly in weeks 10, 11 and 12,  and if my levels are rising they will adjust accordingly.

I have questions because I am fairly new to transition and Susan's Place. I'm not sure how I should ask this because I don't want to offend anyone. So I am going to give it a shot:

I am assuming those that posted on this thread are taking a drug/injection to reduce "T". Is this because those doing so are still intact? If so, how long does this go on?

The injection I take comes in a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or one year shot. It is a gel that goes under the skin and solidifies then breaks down over those time periods based on the volume injected. It is an lhrh inhibitor which stops T production but not completely. Castrate levels are typically 0.5 or less and this injection should put me between .75 and 1.5. In March I was 7.4 down from 14.8 in October. With me I was going to get the second shot in July but now my pre-op is moved up. If the surgery date is after July 23 I will get the second shot to keep me down. If it's before July 23 then I won't need the shot. Last week I felt a drop in my T again. Can't explain the feeling but it is noticeable, just a big calm flowing thru me

Yes, for transwomen one way to reduce Testosterone as part an HRT regime is to use these gnrh inhibitors. They are expensive compared to other drug options,  so you often only see UK girls using them via the NHS.
Repeated doses are required for as long as the testicles remain in the body. Cessation of the drug will result in a return of normal T levels.
FYI, these are the same drugs they give to younger trans* people as a puberty blocker. They are considered low risk with few side-effects, but I've not been able to find any research on extended 5+ year usage.

I've been on these injections since Jan 2016, and had them tampered with (changed) at least once in that time period, 3-month dose replaced with 1 month by either the manufacturer of the medicine, dr, or pharmacist. They were quick to prescribe a second dose but it's something that is irritating to live with.

Hi. It's such an annoyance but I think that that is mistakes being made. Most GPs and pharmacists don't deal with trans issues very often, so it's not uncommon for mistakes to be made with prescriptions. I have a repeat prescription, but even so when I pick it up I make sure it's the 3 month dose, I then take it to the pharmacists to ensure it's a 3 month dose that they order (cause they never have it in, despite being attached to my GP and it being a repeat). I then check, when it comes in it's the right one.

The problem of mistakes goes both ways. My prescription is every month estrogen and vaniqa and every 3 months triptorelin. More than once I've gone to pick up a normal prescription and found triptorelin on it even though it wasn't due yet. At the price of that drug, you'd think they'd be more careful!

But yeah, the whole thing is a pain in the backside. I used to get my prescriptions from a gender specialist, and in fairness it was right every time back then as he was used to the drugs involved.

In fairness to Wikipedia, the article is extremely informative... if you are a doctor or rocket scientist; I am neither, not even close.

Im on Evorel and Decapeptyl as well as Finestaride, and my first bloods after almost 3 months after the injection of the gel into my backside showed T at an unmeasurably low level, less than 0.2. I haven't noticed any T surge or depreciation, so maybe that's just me.
As per the previous posts your Doc should let you know why any meds are changing and no one else should be messing with doses etc. If you think someone is then see your Doc as soon as possible.

have repeat prescription via my GP( picked up from my local chemist) but it was set by Gender GP, every 12 weeks for the decap and patches every 4 weeks , not noticed it wearing off but at my age levels low before starting. after the first 2 weeks they stopped working and not worked since.
