Susan's Place Transgender Resources

I went to my meet up this morning and I walked away very impressed. So I have been attending Saturday meetups over at the Rainbow Center in Tacoma. We had our regular discussion on topics like "Describe a guilty pleasure, you might get some crap for" The consensus was comic books and cartoons.  Then the topic turned to DNA and ancestry, and the most amazing conversation ensued. First off, I was not aware of the intelligence in the room as this is only my second visit. But they started talking and I tell you. I learned more about the subject in 75 minutes than I knew my whole life other than OJ left some on the gate. I learned three things. 1.Never underestimate your peers. 2. The kids are alright. 3. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Hey I think I'll write a song. One question I have is, why did everyone take voice lessons if you are going to talk in your male voice.. The other thing is that height does not matter as we have enough height that we could have a "pretty" basketball team with four of us in the 6'4" to 6'7 height range. Unfortunately I am the only one that can't find shoes that fit. Ok, so maybe it's not funny, but it sure was informative.

Yes indeed, everyone is beautiful in their own way.
Regarding height and tall trans-women.... have you not noticed that there is an abundance of very tall cis-females in this last generation or so?  I mean very tall and very pretty cis-females.... so it is the voice that should get attention. 
As far as shoes go, mail order may be the only good solution.

Not really to be honest.  I do, however, find great conversation with the cis girls my height.  Its so rare that we commiserate on growing up together lol.  They are out there, however :)

I don't know about very tall but I have certainly noticed over the last decade that they are many more cisfemales that could be accurately described as tall. Perhaps the previous significant height difference is becoming less pronounced?

I know what you mean.  My niece and several of her friends are around or just over the 6ft mark.  Now I'm just praying that means foot size is also increasing and a decent choice of bigger shoes are just around the corner!

😁 Your group sound more fun than any I have ever been to. I always enjoy when people surprise me in a good way. I got stuck with a Rabbi once for what was looking like it was going to be a long time, he looked so stern that I was groaning inside. He turned out to be funny, intelligent and overloaded with compassion for everyone. Eight years later he is one of the few friends that has stuck by me through my transition, I have leaned on him a lot.

I have a collection of classic comedies, I think that I will have to get that out and watch it. 🙂 It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world, laughter helps keep perspective. 😉

Charlotte...As to the shoes I agree, whole heartedly. I am tired of paying at least $150 a pair of custom shoes.

Finally Michelle. Three movies that still floor me after all these years. "Airplane", "Something about Mary" and "Me, Myself and Irene." I'm trying to remember which one was the funniest but they all hit my funny bone. I think I'll go with Something about Mary as I was watching it while I was on assignment to Spokane. There were, I think six college students watching it with me and I have a very hard time stopping while everyone else is carrying on. I hate soda and butter on my knees. I love humor/ sarcasm.

Well my wife is 6-1 (3" more than I) and complains about the lack of cute shoes in her size.
She is also quite beautiful.  Throughout time and generations humans have been getting taller.

@Jessica    I am at the other end of the trend, I am only 5'4" ... if I fluff up my hair I might get to 5'5" 
Well.....good things come in small packages I hear. The good news for me is that I wear very easy to find shoe sizes.
