Title: Impact on body hair from HRT

Hello all,
I am sure this was covered previously but I can not find a thread. What effects to your body hair did HRT have?
I am starting HRT soon and hair removal real soon. However, most of my torso, back, shoulders upper legs and arms are hairy, and some of it gray now. Just curious what I can expect since I will most likely need laser and electrolysis, at least above the waist.
Thanks!
B

Personally after about a year on HRT mine has thinned, softened and lightened; I was lucky not to have a very hairy body in the first place.
Like many cis women, I shave/wax to keep smooth.
I used a Philips lumea IPL device on my forearms and chest, and that helped too.

Mine is considerably thinner and even lighter, especially on my arms. That is on HRT for 11 months.

My body hair from the neck down has thinned, but not disappeared after 11 months of hrt.
I epilated my legs several months ago and only maintain them by tweezing strays now.
I need to work on my lower arms though, they have lessened, but not as much as my chest and legs.

I never had body hair, and just a normal amount of arm and leg hair, which has become very sparse and light colored.

Ive wondered this also, Im fairly hairy and for obvious reason it has caused a great portion of my dysphoria. At on point or another I shaved every part of my body... and as much as I want to keep doing that any hair regrowth is actually a bit painful (well more discomfort but at lease where its at now I dont normally feel it) Im hoping I notice a difference early on when I start HRT it'll make all the difference when it does ^^ but yeah Im there with you Curvybethannhope I contently look up info oh how the body hair loss works with HRT.

I had very little body hair, and only moderate leg hair. All of it has become thinner, finer, and lighter. The few remaining hairs on my chest are almost invisible. My leg hairs are still a little bit visible, but not so much that I need to shave very often.

I don't know to what degree it is from lifelong bodyshaving or from 20 weeks of HRT but I am pleased to say I have no leg hair or arm hair.
Unfortunately I still have some hair on my chest and abdomen and back which I intend to have removed by electrolysis starting in August.
I know how you feel as body hair is my main source of dysphoria. I seek its total elimination.
I think you are correct to start both HRT and BHR (Body Hair Removal) and I wish you every success in both.
Hugs
Pamela

What kind of HRT? Bicalutamide is an excellent treatment for hirsutism in women . . . and works for transwomen just as well. With a 'not every day low dose' over time have permanently eradicated Most ALL body-hair completely. If works for me on legs, chest and under-arms see no reason why it wouldn't be effective other areas as well?
Am afraid to shave my arms lest it grows back never again?

Never had body hair, but my arm hair was a little darker as was my leg hair, darker & longer. These years finally on HRT, my hair on my arms is only visible with direct light, very vellus. Leg hair slightly darker & still can get long'ish, but I use an epilady once a month or sooner to get it down to a dull roar. Mostly its also only visible under bright light. My head hair is dark btw, and most of my siblings have much darker & more obvious hair. Sadly my pubic hair is still nice & dark & long if I leave it... which I don't. I just did my first laser treatment on underarms & pubic. Its killed it back dramatically, apparently they didn't like that, though its only been a month since the first treatment. I'll probably go back for a year at least to kill it completely. Sorry don't like pubic hair, it dies :P Didn't have it anyways till late 20's. Irritates me.

My body hair became very thin and it grows slower, so HRT will definitely help you with that.
