Hello all! I decided to check out this site on recommendation of my girlfriend and I must say, this seems like a great place to be and so I've decided to register. My actual name is Kelly, but I like using little cutesy online names so whichever you prefer is fine by me. Basically, I am here because I am a GG dating a transsexual girl (who hasn't begun transition yet) and I just wanted to find a few like-minded people to chat with and learn from. However, I am a little different than a lot of the significant others that I've been reading about (in books, not here) because I chose to date my girlfriend already knowing what was what and so didn't suffer any shock or grief over the issue (not that I'm unsympathetic to those who have, it's just that I haven't experienced it). But because that's all that I seem to find in all the other support areas for significant others, I feel slightly out of place, and this place seems so diverse that I am hopeful that I will find a place to fit in. Now that I have all that out of the way I will finish introducing myself. I am 25 years old and I live in Plattsburgh, NY. I like anime, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, karaoke bars, Harry Potter, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and chocolate. I proudly call myself a geek (or nerd, or otaku, whatever) I am working towards returning to college but I haven't quite figured out what exactly I want to do...all I know is that I want a career helping others. I am currently working at Wal-Mart but hold a certificate as a CNA (nurse aid) so I've thought about going back for nursing but I'm interested in psychology, too. I'm mostly a cheerful, happy and well-adjusted person but I get my moods (like everyone, I suppose). I have a good sense of humor about most things and I prefer honest discussion to fluff. But I do like fluff with peanut butter on bread. :) I love my girlfriend dearly and want to help her the best that I can. My dislikes are ignorant people, annoying customers, bad sci-fi/fantasy movies, and marshmallow peeps! Well, I don't know what else to say, so for now I'll say: Thank you and see you soon!
Sincerely,
Angelsgirl (Kelly)
Sincerely,

Welcome Kelly. There are other SO's here who are a font of wisdom. Looking forward to reading your input. And Harry Potter rules :)

Hi Kelly. You dislike marshmallow peeps? Too bad. I love them, but my wife hates them too. Go figure. Anyway, welcome to Susans. It's good to know there are people like you out there. I hope to see you joining in on soe discussions here.

Hi Kelly,
That was a great intro. Thanks for sharing. I too am a Harry Potter fan. Have allthe books that are out and the movies too. I can hardly wait for the next book.
All though we don't have the same experiences in being SO's we do share the main thing of importance in that we love someone very much that finds the self in the wrong body. And I too am GG. Together we can help each other be supportive as the journies press forward. Leah my Life's Partner is in the early stages of transitioning.
I look forward to seeing more post from you and feel free to use contact information in my profile. Leah and I are very open to visiting with couples. Also let me invite you to the Chat for SO's I'm on most every day or evening and will join you anytime you need it to fit your time frame. The chat's here are usually informative and fun with people from around the globe participating.
Have your Girlfriends join in as well. The more the merrier. Take a minute and read over the site rules if you haven't already and share anywhere you feel like it. Again welcome!
Smiles,
Peggiann

Hi Kelly, What the heck is "Adult Swim", is that like skinny dipping, anyways welcome to Susan's. I like Sci-Fi stuff too like "Close encounters of the third kind" and anything to do with creatures from another planet probably cause they remind me of myself (off the planet) and I so love CHOCOLATE?
Sara.

Adult Swim is a block of Cartoons designed for adults on Cartoon Network. See http://www.adultswim.com (http://www.adultswim.com) for more details. Personally, I don't like it very much, because I find the cartoons to be a little vulgar.

Hello Kelly,
Let me add my welcome to the others. As you have found out Susan's is a very diverse web site which tries to fulfill the needs of all those who would fit under the Transgender umbrella. You will also find that you will certainly fit in here, as you don't have to be a spouse to be a significant other. You mentioned that you knew the situation with your girlfriend before you chose to date her so there was no surprises, and you are fortunate to find yourself in that situation.
All of our personal experiences are important to Susan's and that includes yours. So don't be a stranger and take part where you can, express your views and opinions, and even start your own topics. You will find lots of information in the Wiki, and the link can be found at the top of each page.
Relax enjoy your stay, you're among friends :)
Steph

Hello again!
I wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome! I forgot to mention that my girlfriend is also a member here, but that she's rarely online because she doesn't have internet yet at her house (I myself am using the campus computers until I can get one in my apartment, ah the torments of moving away from home!) Her name is Jocelyn, she's posted only once (like six months ago!) but she frequents the place when she can. Again, thanks to everyone for being so friendly!
Sincerely,
Angelsgirl (Kelly)

Thanks for helping us make the connection.
Yes the moving out and on your own is such an exciting time in ones life even if it style cramping some times. Tell Jocelyn Hi for use here.
Is there a Public library close enough for Jocelyn to use the Computers there? They udually allow 30 minuts to an hour in some at one setting.
Just a thought,
Smiles,
Peggiann
