Title: How HRT shapes your body.
Post by: TsukiCat on July 05, 2018, 09:37:59 AM
I've been looking into getting a more feminine body as an mtf and looked into waist crunchers and corsets but then read a lot of people say that HRT naturally shapes your body more feminine. How true is This? After long enough in HRT is your body indistinguishable from born women?

Also on a side note and feel free to discuss also, I just worked out that I'm between a women 16-18 uk cloth size, this makes me feel really big and freakish. I'm 5,7. What are your gals (n guys) clothe sizes? It feels odd buying large as I've always bout medium.

It depends on your age and how long you've been on HRT. But don't expect miraculous results, HRT works very slowly and some people might get big changes but for most, the changes are very subtle.

Personally I'm 18. So chances are you'll look quite masculine? D's anybody have suggestions for better body Shaping?

You are very young so chances are you will get a very feminine shape. Be patient.

There are people here that have forgotten more than I know on the topic. That being said, I believe hormones will cause fat redistribution from the waist to the hips, and breast growth. So it will cause a more feminine  figure but it's not going to change bone structure so don't expect miracles.

I am 6'1 around 170. My breast measurement is about 39" but of course it's ALL rib cage. I generally do a L/XL top. My hip size fits a 10 or 12 pant size if the waist has a little stretch. Length, though, is a real issue. Not much off the rack fits great. (U.S. sizes)

Always a YMMV situation.  The only safe position is assume you'll see no physical changes at all. Then you can't be disappointed.

Hugs, Devlyn

Never.

Since you are past (or at least nearing the end of) puberty, your bone structure is masculine.  HRT will not change that.  You still have a few years before your bones finish developing, so you may have better results than late starters.  What HRT will probably do (as Devlyn points out, YMMV, no guarantees) is redistribute fat.  With long enough on HRT, fat may choose to deposit on your hips and buttocks more than on your belly.  Muscles may decrease in bulk.

I am 5'8", and I am usually a 10 in North American sizing.  "Usually", because sizing is approximate.  Sometimes a large 8 will fit; sometimes a small 12 will fit.  In L-M-S sizing, I fit a "large" in tops and a "medium" in bottoms.  I wear a 38A bra.

Starting from 18, you're probably going to remain about the same height. Skeletal structure is mostly done growing by that time.

Here's what will change:
Softness of the skin, likely more collagen and possibly getting more acne because you're kinda going through another puberty.
Your body's fat distribution will change over time.
You'll probably grow breasts about a cup-size down from your closest natal female relative.
Around 6 months into HRT, you'll probably go sterile.
There's also other things that will probably effect you as well, but they're not the major aspects to HRT.

If you want to change the underlying bone structures of your face, Facial Feminization Surgeries can help you do that too.

I'm 43 and started 9 months ago. I found that hrt has changed a lot. I got my figure to 45 36 44 so far (I'm six foot 2). I got  rid of the muscle I didn't want. All the fat has moved from stomach to butt and thighs and while I'm no hour glass I definitely don't look male. I have a 38 C bust at the moment and its still growing. Overall I'm happy. There are some women with wider shoulders than me, and many at work have expressed jealousy at not being tall and thin. If this is as far it goes - and I think there is still a bit left then I'm happy.

Thanks all, its a total bummer about the bones thhouh, i just hope I will be a fairly fem figure. You all look fine on your profile pics so im probably worried over nothing. Random one as I just took some pics all dressed up, my armes are ferocicly blokey. There not muscly or owt, quite lanky average. Will HRT do anything to your arms

HRT has given me nice, large-ish, perky breasts. They started growing in only a few short weeks after starting. I already had a bit of a feminine shape but I didn't get a lot of additional feminine shape improvements from HRT until after about 22 months (a long time, it seems). Now I have the nice, larger, soft hips that match my breasts. All this makes my waist look so small. I'm very soft all over now and smell totally different because of 27 months HRT. Sadly, for me, no change to my face that I can see....

I read somewhere on here that the bones in the hips don't full develop until around 25.  Under HRT, you *may* very well get more feminine hips.

I have to throw my tidbit in here.. though not everyone (in fact pretty much noone) has my unique ... disadvantage here.

If you grew up during puberty with minimal amounts of sex hormones (t or e) in fact your growth may not be as set in stone.  My hips are STILL growing.. the actual hip bones.  Plus the whole fat distribution helps.  I'm in my 40's btw.  There are other factors that might encourage bone growth... repeated trauma for one (don't do that), certain genetic disorders, etc.

That being said most everyone is right here, however.  Most folks will no longer have actual skeletal changes without surgery.  Fat distribution is a given being on the right mix of hormones... for the most part.  If you're skinny now, sure it will redistribute some but don't expect to spring into full booty butt mode with huge boobs.  Just not gonna happen unless you carry the genes for that.. and are lucky.

I'm a UK 14 on the bottom and a 16 or 18 on the top (depending on manufacturer).  I once bought an XXL top from one manufacturer and the same size from another (I wanted them a bit baggy) and one is REALLY baggy and the other tight!  It really seems to be a nightmare finding womens clothes that fit properly.  The sizes are all over the place and not having a female frame (pre-HRT) is really not helping!

Weird one though was shoes.  I ordered a pair of rainbow slingback heels in a UK size 9 and they were massive!  In the end the size that fit was a 7!  Two sizes smaller than what I normally wear. Go figure!

The only advice I can give is either try them on if you are comfortable doing that in a shop, or buy cheap from eBay and get a couple of different sizes as one will probably fit!
