Its not like since I came true to myself Ive been hiding what makes me feel better, I got my ears pierced, I started to paint my figure nails after getting some of my sisters old nail polish. I havent been putting on makeup or anything because my facial hair grews fast and I feel uncomfortable as it is.
So im staying with my parents right now and my mom just came out and asked me about it, sadly she keeps saying she doesnt understand and just thinks I'd be comfortable dressing in drag... I mean for some people maybe thats enough but I dont know what to do, anyone have advice on helping others understand (for someone who isnt big with technology) her current arguments are Caitlyn Jenner and of course wrong info at that. and my best friend, her words are me jumping on the bandwagon... im at a loss.

What might help is if you show your mother "the transition channel" (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfO3B57E6NpIn-KsVjvmLLw). The series contains medically correct information and will show the difference between CIS thinking and transgender thinking. Because there are a number of different topics discussed, you might want to preview them and determine which ones would be best for your mother to view and what should be saved for latter. Others on the site may be able to recommend book however the books will require more of a commitment from your mother to spend the time needed to read them.

some great support here just wish I had more at home... she wont talk about it when my dad is around so thats nice but she just told me I cant be myself and I told her no... anyway I gave her the info but of course I cant force her to watch it. if this was easy I wouldnt be in so much stress at home
Thank you Dena if nothing else it did help ease my dysphoria after the conflict yesterday... Im half way tempted to get my mom to buy me clothes even if I dont wear them yet just so I have some that I didnt have to buy lol

Here is another video series that could also help. Chase Ross is a transman that has a series of videos explaining basic things about being trans. Its geared towards explaining being trans to family.
