Title: Is this what happiness feels like?
Post by: Ginger26 on July 22, 2018, 12:59:25 AM
This isn't really a question; more of an eye opening experience for me. So, Friday I was doing some shopping and picked up an outfit. I wanted to basically try cross dressing to see how it felt. Well I fell in love with the shirt the second I saw it and had to get it. Trying it on at the store I felt like my heart stopped. It seemed so right.

After I got home, I put the whole outfit on before I made dinner. Everything that I was wearing was from the women's section. I couldn't stop myself from smiling, giggling, and laughing. My normal laugh is really just a smirk and a "hmm". I can't remember a time that I was this happy. Before this my happiness was only based on achievements, not just me being me. I just had to share this. These posts make everything so real.

I can relate. Before transition I never let myself feel. Being the real me was a real eye opener as to what it is to like yourself, and, as you say genuinely be happy.

Hello Ginger
First off I just had to wish a fellow michigander best wishes from
Da U.P. eh.
And I'm just going to assume you're in the lower peninsula that contains Michigan's 97% population.
That being said I'm so glad you're exploring yourself as you mentioned and feeling better wearing female clothes. I also experienced feeling better exploring my feelings but I've always felt cross-dressed as a male but I know where you're coming from sometimes you got to do a good acting job. I'm at age 56 now and still feel much better lowering my dysphoria by expressing myself as my inner identity always suggested from a very early age.

In a way dear if you're from a more urban environment than I am you have far more resources at hand.
About 25 years ago I lived around the Ann Arbor area and have learned about U of M's excellent gender program that really covers it all.
As you I'm pretty new here too but I hope you can find a good gender therapist that can help you figure yourself out.
I would love it if you were a Yooper, because I have yet to find anyone else up here being a member at Susan's.
But I still feel you're probably in a better place at your age because there isn't any gender therapist up here for hundreds of miles.
Sorry I got off a little from your main topic, but like I said I'm pretty new also listen to the experienced members they will provide you a wealth of information.
all the very best for your future
love Tatiana

Well I'm horrible with technology so hopefully you eventually see this. Tatiana, I am originally from central Michigan, but moved to the U.P. about 15 years ago. I just wanted to provide a link that might be able to help you. I haven't contacted any of these therapists, or know if they are practicing still. Best of luck to you.
