Title: Dark fluid from one nipple
Post by: Raina Selone on July 22, 2018, 06:16:53 AM
Just wanted to make sure my girls are working right....

When I apply pressure to my nipples, my right nipple weeps a very dark colored liquid that "stains" my fingers. THe stain goes away when I suck on the finger, but it has me mildly concerned.

I sent a message to my endo, but they won't be open until Monday late morning. Hoping to get another answer before then.

Been on HRT since 11/2017.

Dark colored liquid definitely doesn´t sound good and you need to see doctor. Monday is good, as it´s very soon.

Generally speaking, dark colored liquid from a nipple can mean breast cancer, but, there can also be other explanations, which the doc I´m sure will start to examine tomorrow.

Cancer I think is a very rare possibility, because you haven´t been on HRT that long.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

But definitely seek medical advice tomorrow. If your endo is busy, then other doctor.

HRT does not cause breast cancer. This has never been established for certain. Some studies even contradict this.

No, but the development of breast tissue does have that risk, which is a result of HRT, but yes, it´s not HRT itself.

But dark liquid from a nipple is alarming and needs medical evaluation. It is one symptom that you can have from breast cancer.

Why I mentione HRT is that in 8 months there isnt very much breast tissue yet.

I had the same thing about 6-9 months on HRT. Very alarming, but no problem. My Doctor was not alarmed either. It went away after a couple of months and the girls are fine. That is my experience anyway.

I mentioned it to the doctor, and he said don't squeeze 'em. It also went away in a couple of months.

Hope that helps,

Well yeah!!! I'm sorry but why in the world are you squeezing them anyway? OMG! If I did that, I would be in TEARS FROM THE PAIN! It makes mine hurt just thinking about it. Don't do that!!!

It honestly doesn't hurt *that* much, but then again I've had kidney stones, so....I guess you could say I've experienced the pains of childbirth? LOL
