City of London gender-related survey on access to services. Will be used to form future policy apparently. Only takes a few minutes to fill in with some brief multiple-choice questions. Transphobes are all over it if Twitter's anything to go by so worth doing.

I think this is quite important to take part in. Thank you for posting it.
London is one of the least tolerant toward LGBT areas in the country apparently, according to recent data (quite likely related to the changing racial and religious demographics of the city)... it's important for trans people to do things like this and continue to have a voice. I do believe it will not be long before the right of trans (and other LBG) to live openly will clash with interests of certain other groups and that the government/establishment will not be inclined to take our side when it does, out of fear/appeasement. We should try to establish our presence and needs before this happens.

No idea which groups are specifically the least tolerant, although I could guess. All I know is that it's becoming less tolerant according to general surveys and that the typically most LGBT tolerant demographic of the place (i.e. middle class British) has been steadily declining (as those people move out of London).
I know quite a few people of that demographic and in the last two months alone three or four of them have talked about moving out of London because they don't like being there any more, and one of them already has moved. Can't really blame them when the homicide rate famously surpassed New York's earlier this year and the mayor didn't want to increase stop and search powers of the police/Theresa May's cuts to the police force has meant less of them on the streets. It seems to be at the point where higher class neighbourhoods are hiring their own private police and security to patrol near their houses (kind of like in South Africa, I suppose?)

Thanks for posting this but I had better not complete it as I am from NW England but if you encounter any other regional or national surveys, I would be most interested please.

Sadly I suspect you may be right in your prediction of behaviour of any government or the establishment in the future; they are unlikely to take our side and hence we must exert our presence peacefully.

Now I have no experience with this situation specifically and am American. Having said that, however, populations do shift over time or even rapidly in some cases. Now IF there has been significant influx of a population that is ultra conservative to the area, that could start to affect things.
Now, is it immigrants? Maybe, maybe not. I would have to do a study to find out and I am too lazy. However, it could be a strong Nationalistic (normally conservative) movement pushing their agenda and then blaming immigrants for it too. There is evidence for that one as well...

The survey asks where you live & work so you can still participate even if you don't have a direct connection with London
A super important survey at the moment though is the government's consultation in to the Gender Reform Act which will have a very big impact on us. Definitely worth taking the time to complete it and this will make a real difference:

I was super excited when I saw your link, because, although I am Canadian, I was born in the UK and have some bureaucratic issues as a result. Unfortunately, though, the survey only applies to England and Wales. My birth certificate is from Northern Ireland, so it is not going to help me.

Unfortunately, the way politics are at the moment, I don't think anything will change in Northern Ireland until we get a new British government that isn't reliant on the Unionists to give it a majority in Westminster. Still, if things change in the rest of the UK, hopefully it will only be a matter of time until Northern Ireland follows suit
