Is there a man in the audience who could explain this chart to me? I feel soooooo helpless, in fact I think I'm getting 'the vapors.' Oh my!

That's hilarious. Ahh mansplaining. I get it from three guys all the time even if it's something I know far more about. Every time I cut my brothers hair he gives me the lecture about keeping my clippers oiled so they don't freeze up. I only use clippers every day at work but I need a man to remind me how take care of them because I'm too air headed to remember such technical things. And just the other day my dad told me I should vacuum my way out of a room so the tracks on the carpet are lined up. Yeah, I can count the times my dad has used a vacuum cleaner since I've been alive on one hand. But he needs to tell me how to vacuum. Line up the tracks!  Get the ## out of here! Mansplaining is one thing that really annoys the crap out of me.

This!

Moni has nailed it dead on.  I had even forgotten about "the vapors."  Now THAT provided a good laugh -- but "men" would not understand this...

Erin

I used the vapors on my brother last night. He was being obnoxious as only he can and I told him to go away because he was giving me the vapors. He gave me the weirdest look and asked what the hell "the vapors" was. I told him never mind. So then Tristan walks in and Tyler asks him what are the vapors and if it was some aussie slang. Tristan said he didn't have any clue what the vapors were and asked where he got it from and Tyler told him I had said he was giving me the vapors. Tristan said " vapors. She must have the farts then". I died laughing.

"In archaic usage, the vapours (or vapors) is a reference to certain mental or physical states, such as hysteria, mania, clinical depression, bipolar disorder, lightheadedness, fainting, flush, withdrawal syndrome, mood swings, or PMS, where a sufferer lost mental focus. Ascribed primarily to women and thought to be caused by internal emanations (vapours) from the womb, it was related to the concept of female hysteria.

"The word "vapours" was subsequently used to describe a depressed or hysterical nervous condition. Today, the phrase "a case of the vapors" is most often used either melodramatically or for comedic effect."
