Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Dear Forum Friends:

NOTE:  In order to share and post photos on the Susan's Place Forum ...
  .... an Image Hosting Site needs to be utilized. 
Personally, I have been happily and successfully using Imgur.com to post my photos.

****Here are the instructions for you to follow so you can include pictures in your postings and replies on the Forum... and also you can post them on your Private Messages:  (note, you can not send a Private Message until you have posted on the forums 15 times)

FIRST OFF:  It is best to use a desktop or Laptop computer because phones and pads usually do not have the button functions to do what is needed.

Step 1:  Go to Imgur.com 
      (you do not have to sign up as a (free) member there unless you wish
        to have later control of your posted photo.)
Step 2:  Click "New Post"
Step 3:  Click "Upload Images"
Step 4:  Drag picture from your computer to Imgur download box, or copy and paste, or enter URL
Step 5:  Put your curser on the upper/right of your downloaded photo on Imgur
Step 6:  Go to the "down arrow" and then select "Get Share Links"
Step 7:  COPY:  "BBCode(forums)  THIS IS IMPORTRANT
Step 8  PASTE:  To the body of your message/posting/reply

That should do it.... BUT again be aware of the pixel size of your photo..
.....  keep it under control and not much over 1200 W x 900 H....  if you are confused about that detail and how to do it then don't worry because when you post a photo on a Personal Message or on the FORUM it will automatically be reduced.  Trying to upload or post a super large photo on Imgur and then download it on the Forums will take longer on a slower connection.

Now, I am looking forward to seeing all kinds of your pictures....  and if you don't want to post a picture on the Forum you could always send and include pics on a Personal Message using an Image Hosting Site, but obviously only post pictures as you feel comfortable sharing.

On imgur.com if you do not choose to sign up with a free account it is automatically set to private... but later  if you want to have later control of your uploaded photo then you should sign up for a FREE account..

Your post solved my problems with images, so thankyou! However, if you use the get share links and copy the BBcode version right now, the copied text includes the img tags at either end. Which means that if you click the 'insert an image' button on the post menu bar, you will end up with two sets of img tags at either end of the link you copy in and it will not appear. This baffled me for quite some time, but it is probably obvious to everyone else  🙂

I have used Imgur in the past to upload photos, but Imgur is no longer giving the option of Gat Share Links to copy the BBCode.

Do you know if there is another way to get the code of upload a photo?

I just recently posted some pics from Imgur yesterday, and the Get Share Links option was there. What device are you using. I did it from my desktop PC.

I just checked my post, and the images have disappeared. The image placeholder is not there either.

I'll dig a bit further.
When I do a Quick Edit, the image code is there, it is just not displaying for some reason.

I discovered that when I use the upload function in Imgur do not get the share links options. However, I do get it when I drag the file over. Very strange. FYI I am on HP laptop running widows 11.

I noticed the same issues you are having. The site is currently having some issues with how it handles URL links, so this may also be affecting how BBC codes work. Senior Staff have been advised and are working on it. Thanks for letting us know.

As @Lori Dee stated,  all of the Senior Staff are aware of some of these and other FORUM "links" issues.

The Forum "Link" problems that we have discussed are NOW  FIXED !!!

For some reason I can't get past the Sign In or Signup in Ighur. Any suggestions?

Dear Denise Grace;
IMGUR has changed some things in the past year ...
... as is many times the case with upgrades to various sites... not always better.

For starters you should "Sign Up" with a FREE account which will allow your delete your
pictures that you previously saved so that everywhere that you posted them that they
will likewise be deleted.  Signing up with a FREE account makes it much easier to navigate
around Imgur and to utilize all of their features. 
I does get confusing so be patient and attempt to work through it.
    All you need is your Email and your email password and that is what you will
    use each time you "sign in"   

I love how Imgur works, it allows you to upload all of your desired pictures that you
can use now or in the future... and again later.
