Title: Greetings from Quin
Post by: QuincestuallyAurtastic on August 18, 2018, 12:51:25 AM
Hello everyone at Susan's place, my name is Quin.

I'm a very confused, socially isolated "Gender questioning" 29 year old, from Ontario.
I have Autism, which was misdiagnosed as a developmental delay in early childhood. my doctor and I are currently struggling to get a diagnosis, which is very hard in adulthood.
I've spent the last ten years, living off and on the streets, couches, shelters, group homes.
I have allot of difficulty maintaining relationships.

I've bean attempting to live my male role, while ignoring my feminine sides feelings, for ten years now. last year, I had a brush with suicide, that came very close.
after breaking down, I realized that I couldn't resist what I feel any longer.
I don't know if living as a female, will make me happy, as I haven't had the chance to live as one, but I know for sure, that the male role, I've been cast, is not working.

I've recently found a stable place to stay again, and come to the conclusion, that I must give my feminine side, her chance. continuing to pretend, that i'm ok, is not ok.
it's time to stop running, I wish I had stopped running ten years ago, when I had the money, and the youth to be in a better position for this... but all I can do, is prevent more regrets from being built.
the next time I see my doctor, I plan to start asking about HRT.

aside from that whole situation...
I'm into the web-comics, manga, anime, and video games, sort of subculture.

I aspire to become an Independent creator, of webcomics, and someday video games.
I specialize in Illustration, fantasy/sci-fi world building, and character driven story crafting.
I also love to study various things, economics, organizational structures, self directed education systems, organic agriculture, philosophy, mycology, and more.

if you have any questions, or anything else, please don't hesitate. I'm about as open as a book can be, in this day and age.

I hope we can get to know each other,

Hey Quin!

You're in tough situation. I've spend few month on streets (not because there was circumstances but because of my own foolish) and had place where I could return (and that's exactly what I did). Dunno if I could manage to survive longer. You're strong :)

It also great that you look in future instead of pondering on past. Despite of circumsances you looks positive (except that moment in last year). You study things and create things it's so cool :) Hopefully you'll like this place and maybe it'll bring even more positive in your life.

And thanks for reminding me about webcomics, I should check if any I subscribed renews :)

funny thing about that, being homeless you quickly learn to keep your feelings bottled up, and put a happy face on.
people don't like to hang around negative nancies, and expressing how you actually feel about your situation, often just further alienates you, and comes off as begging for sympathy, even if when not intended as such.

while it's definitely a strength, and one i'm proud to have earned, it's also a very lonely strength.
when combined with social anxiety, it often keeps me from asking for help, and thus becomes a weakness as well.
guess i'll have to earn the strength, to display vulnerability, and ask for help when needed next. :P
the weakness of strength, the strength of weakness.

Thanks for reminding me, that strength and weakness are opposite sides of the same coin. :)

Thanks, I hope so too!

what sorta webcomics are you into, if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't have to learn such trait, had it already lol. I've also working on my skill of asking for help too. I used to face everything alone even if there is people who can assist me. I had a little talk with therapist (though cannot afford next sessions), and when I find this place I've already figured out what I going to do, so right now I have nothing to ask or share here, but place is nice and I decided at least greeting new members (it's a big part, since warm welcome relaxing :D ).
