Hey all,
So.a few days ago I posted on the forum about preparing to come out to my stepmom and today was that day. And it went so much better then I expected it to. We went out and when we was in the car I jus opened up about everything. She's been so supportive and informed me that no matter what the future brings shell always be there for me.
She also told my dad and that again went much better then expected. Hes told me hell always be there and just because I known im female rather then male he wouldn't cut me out or kick me out.
I'm all fairness the response was so much better then my moms as she had told me that while she would be there I wouldn't be able to live with her and that she wouldnt accept it. She kept moaning about my hair being too long whereas my dad was like yeah just grow it out if that what makes me Happy and comfortable.
I honestly can't stress how different the outcome was to what I thought it would be.
And for once my mind isn't racing, and I'm actually starting to fell loved and wanted for the person I actually am rather then who I should be.

Congratulations on coming out to your parents! I can understand the relief and stress reduction that comes from that step. I am glad that your dad and stepmom are supportive.

Yay! I too was lucky enough to have nearly everyone in my life accept me. Such a giant relief! I only had a cousin and high school best friend not accepting. My parents both had passed away, so that made it a little bit easier. My mom, I think, would have been okay with it. But my dad always wanted a son, and as I was the only son he had. That wouldn't have stopped me though, as I have always felt he was somewhat absent from my life.

WOW what a great outcome...I am always so happy to hear when it works out with parents. That was such a cool response from your Dad...good on you for having the courage.
