Title: HRT 25 Day Cycles?
Post by: MikeP on September 03, 2018, 04:50:47 PM
Something I experience is periods of obsession towards my sensual side to the point I cant do anything else and then get so tired I get depressed.  It cycles about every 25 to 30 days and will last about a week on average.  My desires of femininity has increased over the last several years and I am lessening the amount of physical sexual desire but developing more sensual desire.  Does this ever happen to You?

I am hoping HRT might give me balance. Trying to decide if lower T or higher E would help best.

Hi Mike P
It is always interesting to break the mental feedback loop we all experience as males running on full androgens.
I don't know the correct medical term but descriptions include mojo, your fantasy, essence ect.
This psychosexual feedback loop creates desire, that creates physical response, that feeds mental response that feeds desire.
Most people running on full male androgens spend a lot of time throughout their life thinking about sex & associated relationships.
Beginning HRT with androgen blocker and estrogen will shut down this feedback loop. It really is a different frame of mind. I believe it is the frame of mind most natal females experience.
The change in mindset provides a golden opportunity for reassessment of one's life in general and a more objective way of figuring out the way forward.
The way forward could involve eliminating androgen blocker and enjoying a higher libido while running on estrogen.
The prescription and adjustments need to be managed via a qualified MD otherwise more harm than good can result.
I have personally tried this and my life is very good on a typical female hormone profile. (including androgen blocker)
Wishing you the best with whatever path you decide,

Kirsten, this is great to hear.  I feel as if I could break the cycle as you indicate I would feel in control again.  Some folks here indicate they have gone on and off HRT for control.  I really want the mental relief and not looking for physical changes but most changes would be welcome I think.  My fear of androgen blockers is mostly in motivation and becoming lethargic.  Not so much physical strength loss.  I could see myself as a happy productive more emotional driven guy without a huge sensual desire for sex etc.

Trialling HRT can be beneficial - it brought me a lot of mental peace + euphoria. I have decided a female hormone profile allows me to get most out of life.
Be careful of going on and off HRT. Starting and stopping several times in a year can create many problems both mental and physical.
Keep in mind it takes more than 6 months to achieve stability on a new hormone regimen and the same amount of time to come off.
A medically supervised prescription for up to 3 months would provide insight into what hormones can do for you without permanent physical effects.
Let us all know how you go,
                                                  Kirsten x.

Some here report emotional changes almost immediately, both good or bad.  How has it been for you?

I was reading about the effects of androgen deprivation for prostate cancer and how quickly the effects are felt especially an orchiectomy.
