Hello....I'm new to this site and this is my first time coming out as being transgendered...I'm 28 and I've felt like this for as long as I can remember. I'm really shy and socially awkward so I don't want to share much but I'll share a bit. I'm mostly just a gamer and reader, and that's pretty much it. I have a very hard time talking about it due to when I was growing up, my step dad would beat me constantly trying to "toughen me up" becsuse I was too feminine, so I kinda withdrew into myself...I don't have any friends and don't really get along with any of my family. I'm hoping talking to others like me will help becsuse frankly lately I've been constantly depressed and lonely and don't know what to do anymore.

Hey Tsukimi!
Don't worry, it's okay, share just what you want :) feel yourself comfortable here.
I'm gamer and reader too and though I have some friends non of them helping me with all that trans stuff so I came here in moment of loneliness.
Sorry to hear about your father. Nobody should have such experience.
You know, good place to start is finding therapist, probably with experience of helping transgenders. You can also read some topics to see how others deal with such problems :)
Welcome :)

It's nice to meet you,Tsukimi. Therapy is an importation first step to understanding the impact your step dad's constantly beating on your depression and your feeling of ->-bleeped-<-. The way we were raised as children has a huge impact on the rest of our lives. There are many more common conditions a person can have than ->-bleeped-<- that have the same symptoms. I developed Dissociative Identity Disorder because of the things I experienced when I was small. It took three years of therapy to begin to understand that my feelings were because I had a female "alter" and had nothing to do wit being transgender!

Thanks for the support...I want to take therapy but for two reasons it's tough...1. Being I live in a very small town about 100 miles from the nearest actual city, and have no way to really get there atm, and two because the thought of telling anyone in person how I really am really scares me...which is partly why I joined. I'm hoping that talking to others will help me and understand everything better.
