Title: How accurate is the faceapp?

I feel like it made me look like mrbean with darker skin and a 5 o'clock shower everywhere on my face.
I'm worried that's how I would look like once i'm 30 or 40.
It kinda resembles my dad a bit except for the eyes.

In my case - too accurate.
In a feminine persona, I look like my mother.
Let's just say that's a non starter and FFS is going to be required very early in my transition.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I wish I could look like my faceapp girl but I know it's just an app :)

Yeah, the same thing kind of happens to me. And the few full makeovers I've had had the same result And I absolutely hated it!!!

I have wondered the same thing. I've never liked how I look. I've never hated it, but I've never been happy looking in the mirror... until I tried that app! (well, and obviously because I was finally looking like the correct gender) I was like daaaammmmmn.... but I'm thinking yeah I'll never look like I do from there. However, at the same time, they really didn't change to many features, FFS I'm wondering might be able to make it close? idk... Also I tried it a handful of times from different angles and different lighting and each time was noticeably different, at least for me, which leads me to think that I shouldn't expect the outcome that I most liked :)

I've played with the face app a bunch. It's a real mixed bag, and I am afraid it sets me up for disappointment. That being said, the face app did give me a real booster, having a picture of myself in femme appearance. It made it seem more real in those early days. Now I think it looks more unreal but cest la vis.
Side note: one of my face app pics was the spitting image of my sister as a teenager. It was eerie. But I guess that's bound to happen when you take dozens of them a day.

That's why I said it was too accurate. I saw both my mother and/or cis sister.
That freaks me out.

I had heard about FaceApp before but have used another one called YouCam. My avatar picture and was ran a product of YouCam.
I took another similar picture and used FaceApp on it today. I can't believe how good it made me look.
First pic is old avatar, second is new with FaceApp.

I think it works better M to F rather than F to M.

I don't think you need to worry about the faceapp if your avatar is you.
Regarding how well the app works I don't have much in the way of before shots to test it on but it has facial recognition. So I took one of my after photos and ran it through the F to M way and it disturbingly looked like me before transitioning.

I think it works better M to F rather than F to M.
It turned my rude head into a striking beauty.( & added a bit of anonymity).
By the way Kylo I must ask what is the new portrait based on.?
