Hi everyone! this is my first post so be nice
I've only just accepted myself as a MTF and for the first time I feel excited about life again. Only problem is I dont know who to tell, a few people know from the drama college i go to, but they are either staff or left. Some of my old friends know also and are very supportive.
The only problem i feel is that the people in my class all bitch about me (*apparantly* I felt up a girl in dance class) so I dont want to be talked about with this too. Also, I'm currently in lodgings living with - you guessed it - BOYS (so I can go to college and not travel so much) on weekends and holidays im back home with parents, and christmas was so hard this year with questions like 'have you got a girlfriend yet?' by friends of family (im into guys btw)
Anyone got any tips for coming out to parents or people in college, I want to tell my parents soon so i can get permission from them to move to another house (althought i could wait till april where i will be 18 so i can go to another house) and college is gonna have to know as well
THANKS!!!

Hi, Cerys,
Welcome to Susan's. I believe you will find a supportive and very nice group of people here. We are very diverse in both our identities and in our lives. So expect lots of different but supportive responses to you, your life and situations that arise for you.
I am presuming from your intro that you are a teacher/instructor/professor? There are people here who fall into that area of employment as well.
I know it takes a lot of courage to 'come out' and I hope all will go well for you. When bumps arise, there are always willing folks here to lend you a hankie or shoulder for your tears.
When you are elated those same people will be here to share your joy and confirm the validity of your joy. *smile*
All the best to you in your walk.
If you would, please read the site rules and terms of service: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,2.0.html
Those are guides to keeping your stay here enjoyable and meaningful.
Welcome,
Nichole

does the College have a counseling service that you could go to for help.
Really, you don't have to tell everyone that you are TS.
Tell the people that are close to you.
The rest will see the change before their eyes and make their own decisions how they feel.

Good for you. I don't have tips, but just wanted to say I think it's great how it's coming along for you.
I wish you well with the parents.

Hi,
I just want to clarify that when I said "good for you" and "it's coming along", I was referring to accepting yourself and that you've found people who you can trust.
