Title: Any burners here?
Post by: 4A-GZE on October 08, 2018, 06:55:50 AM
I just finished my first burn yesterday, and it was AMAZING. I'm beyond excited for next year, and I'm definitely going to Burning Man as soon as possible.

Does anyone else go to any burns? I'd just ask if you've been, but let's be honest... there's no way you can go and NOT come back.

Also, for the sake of keeping this thread appropriate for the site, don't talk about or even hint at doing drugs. Yes, they're not uncommon at burns, but they're not an integral part in any way. They don't need to be discussed.

Yes, I was at in BRC for the 2011 Burn. Going into it, I felt well prepared for the fact that I wouldn't be able to see everything. Halfway through the week I realized I wouldn't even scratch the surface. I definitely wanna go back!

Oh man, I'm jealous! I can't wait until I finally get a chance to go to the big one. I mean, Alchemy is the second-largest regional burn, (after Burning Seed in Australia) so I'm pretty lucky that it's in my state. But man... It doesn't even come close to comparing in size.

BRC is about 37 hours away from me. So... Four days of driving, a day to screw around in Reno, a week of the burn, possibly a day to cool off in Reno again, and four more days of driving. I gotta dedicate like half a month to this trip. So that's a ~$500 ticket, ~$1500 in lost wages, another $600 or so in cheap hotels and gas for the trip there and back, a better hotel for at least one night in Reno, and as long as I'm out up to $3,000-ish, spending $1000+, I might as well throw in an extra hundred or two for the casinos.

Well....

Here's hoping I find a better job for this. I could hypothetically afford it, but.... actually.... if I move back in with my parents to cut rent out of the equation, then.... hmmm....
