Title: Bad Reactions

Well today could have gone better. After seeing my doctor about a week ago and getting my bloodwork done, i was told that if everything checked out they would call and send my pharmacy the script to start me on Estrogen. Well i got that call today but everything didn't check out... I apparently have some liver inflammation and the only obvious cause would be the Spiro i started two months ago (They screen for viral hepatitis at the same time, and previous bloodwork this year showed nothing either) So now im worried about how this will affect me starting HRT. I live in the US so even if it is from a bad reaction to Spiro i cant just switch to Cypro, and either way there not going to prescribe me Estrogen if something is going on with my liver. (PS: Im one of them weird people who don't like to drink or even take something like headache medicine unless really needed) I get more bloodwork done in 4 weeks but im still worried about whats going to happen for me to start HRT.

I was placed on estradiol patches because of liver concerns. When Spiro proved ineffective, I had an orchiectomy.
Good luck!

Its true transdermal estrogen doesn't load the liver . Anti androgen doesn't normally load the liver either. It is possible to have an estrogen only regimen as well to eliminate that concern. I am personally considering orchiectomy to improve feminisation and drop anti androgens.
There are ways to achieve a female hormone profile without liver stress - cis women do it all the time!

So sorry to hear that, was one of my biggest concerns after getting my blood work done, was being told I couldn't cause I had been drowning myself in alcohol for years. Hope you can figure out a route that circumvents this, I'd start by listeingn to these amazing women!

I have estrogen via pellets. My levels are high enough that I don't need Spiro at all. Pellets bypass the liver too. I encourage everyone to investigate that route of they can. I only need to reinsert more pellets every six months too as my body absorbs it slowly.
