So after years of being in an LTR, I find myself dating again. Guys not only do not know but they are all very attracted to me. Trouble is, I've had at least one guy now comment on my labia scars in bed.

I'm not sure what all can be done there. I'm Marci Bowers class of 2011 and those scars run right up the labia, you kinda can't miss them. I've also noticed there's discoloration on one side of each scar but not the other.

Does anyone know about any scar therapy and/or discoloration therapy that can be done perhaps? or what other options do I have?

I believe Dr. McGinn had someone who did tattooing in that area, perhaps others as well.

Hey we're 'tough broads' we do genital electrolysis! Ugh-huh, that's right!!!! lol

I would look into both medical tattooing and maybe laser therapy. ProFractional and DeepFX have both been shown to reduce the appearance of scars.

So true! Why does a tattoo of a chain come to mind.

Speaking of which I would try micro needling first.

I know there are laser treatments that lighten scars.  My girlfriend had some done on her face after a car wreck and the effects are holding up nicely after about 15 years.

It's almost certainly more painful than a tat, but it's an option.

Debra, you don't have any hair to help hide the scars? Especially dark hair helps to hide them also try to make sure you only get seen in low light conditions.  I know this is not the greatest help.  Several have given you other ideas, good luck.

Thanks all, yeah there's going to be pain involved whether it's tats or laser, oh joy.

No I am mostly bald down there......finished up laser after post-op heh.

Ok well I guess I'll start with a gyno appointment and see what they can recommend or refer.

Have you tried scar massage?  With dedication and the right technique, it is even possible to make old scars soft and looking better!
I simply don't understand why not more surgeons teach their patients the proper way to do scar massage!  Almost any scar can be reduced to a thin white line of soft tissue is massaged properly!

@Debra.   Hi, may I ask your age?  I'm in my 30s.  I have similar problems.  I have just posted a new problem on here, actually.  I am looking to have a Scar Revision surgery.  Like you, my GRS was done in 2011.  I had wound opening and blood clot, which may have contributed to my poor scars.   What about you - any complications?

  Perhaps you could consider a scar revision procedure?      Have you considered this?

Who is doing the scar revision surgery?  The one who created the poor scar to start with?

@Dietlind:  this is precisely my dilemma.  I don't know who to choose.  On the NHS, one of the surgeons has offered to revise only 1 of the 2 scars.  But privately I have had 2 surgeons offer to revise both, as I wish.   I do not know what to do.  I did actually leave a post about this.  Do you have any advice please?

Read my posts.  Ask any surgeon what they recommend to do for the scar after surgery.  If one tells you about the proper scar massage, that is the one I would choose, because that surgeon follows up on the scar he/she creates!

I've read that laser therapy can help with pigmentation discoloration  for various things.  Its certainly worth asking a place that does that to see if they can do something.

The problem with most scars is not only the color of the scar, but also the scar tissue that causes the scar to look large and protruding.  The only way this tissue can be removed is with scar massage to break this tissue down.

Once the scar tissue has been broken down, the coloration becomes normal skin tone most of the time, and the remaining scar should be only the actual incision line and probably the points at which the stitches were placed.  These very tiny and thin scars should be of a color that is almost the same as the skin, probably a little more on the white side.

I had the thumb of my right hand cut of three times (once an accident, followed by corrective surgery, followed by an artificial joint in the base of the thumb), and if I don't point this out, about 99% of the people would not even recognize this.
I think it should be possible to make the scars of a neo Vagina as little visible.

Once I get my bottom surgery done, I will massage those scars like crazy to look as natural as possible down there!

Yes, you want to start with a good skin cream, vitamin E content would be good, to use as lubrication over the scar.  If the scar is on a tissue section like the labia, you have to support the tissue with one hand, and apply with the flat of the tumb or flat of the fingers of the other hand enough pressure to the scar that you clearly can feel the scar tissue underneath (similar to a weld).  Now you start to move the fingers in a circular motion across the scar, while maintaining the pressure.  If it hurts, reduce the pressure.  After a while you can moves your fingers along and over the scar and across the scar.  You always want to make sure that you can feel the weld underneath the surface.  Keep going for about 5 minutes, and repeat 4 - 5 times a day.  You want to continue to massage the scar until you hardly can feel any scar tissue under the surface.  Once the weld is gone, the skin can return to its normal condition (not stretched anymore), and most of the time the discoloration of the skin will go a way, too after a while!

With a little luck, your neo vagina will look as good as my hand (I would prefer the looks of my neo vagina), and hardly anybody will see that it is a neo one and not an original one!
