Title: New! Intro
Post by: IamnowDany92 on November 17, 2018, 11:07:49 PM
Hi my name is Dustin but recently have been going by Danielle and I am exploring my true self more and more and I would like some advice.  So in a week and a half I have my first therapy session and I am very nervous and scared because I have never really talked to anyone about these feelings at all and would maybe like some advice on what to except from therapy ... the therapist I'm seeing has a good background dealing with trans people which makes it more relieving but just never had therapy and wanna know what to kinda of expect from it... Thank you and sorry for the ->-bleeped-<-ty paragraph and wording lol

Welcome to the site Danielle.  If it's anything like my first therapy session it will feel like a tremendous relief to talk to another person about the feelings I had bottled up for so long.

Just show up. Relax. Be present. And be honest.
The rest will take care of itself.

Welcome here Danielle!
Just don't be nervous, and be yourself.  The therapist will gently guide you , and help you to find yourself.  If she has experience with LGBTO she will help you to go on with any transition.  I would not know what to do without my therapist, she is such a great help for me!
