Title: Laser treatment and tattoos
Post by: Maya2018 on November 22, 2018, 09:49:13 AM
Is it possible to get laser hair removal on top of a tattoo? I ask because I have a full back tattoo and also back hair. Is electrolysis the only option here?

To get an accurate answer, you should talk to your laser technician.

I would think that, at best, laser would damage the tattoo.  Worst case, it might damage your skin.

My laser technician asked me if I had any tattoos before she treated me. I don't, but I assume it would be an issue of some kind.

My laser technician and I talked about that.  She says they use the same laser initially, just adjusted differently.
I bet the tattoo and the laser will not really like each other a lot!

As is stated above, I would ask ... But one choice would be to have laser tattoo removal first.  I had a big one removed by laser on my boob.  I didn't have any hair to remove, but laser hair removal could follow laser tattoo removal.  I suspect that the two may require different wavelength lasers.
