I've been asking a lot about what ACTUALLY makes the difference between male and female gender, part of ye ol figuring stuff out that stemmed from a conversation with my therapist.
https://www.scienceofpeople.com/gender-differences/
It's really about men vs women thinking at work, and I think it should be taken with a healthy dose of salt as it's all averages and the standard deviation (error bars) on these averages are substantial (aka, its true as an average across a huge population, but all over the map for individuals).
I found it interesting, and maybe it will help someone.
Or maybe it's full of holes and I'm about to get big ol dose of education :).

It seems stereotypey. She's a motivational speaker and body language expert. Not exactly science.
What ACTUALLY makes the difference between male and female gender is your sense of self. Rather than looking for external explanations, look within yourself. That's where the answer is.
I mean, in this woman's world I wouldn't exist. I'm a non-binary gender. They don't teach that in school, I had to figure it out myself, and so do you. :)
Hugs, Devlyn

I don't think anyone fits the stereotypes exactly - particularly transgender people. Science says the brain develops differently in response to hormone levels before birth. I wonder though, after that, when the bodies natural hormones kick in and cause the 'wrong' puberty does this also change the brain? If this is the case then we'd be more a hybrid of both and pretty hard to put into a stereotype. I know I can be hyper emotional one minute and very logical the next and most of the testosterone I had is well gone - for a decade if my count is right and that was before hrt!

The physical differences are obvious but we can over come that. I think one's gender is in the brain, not the body. So, my goal has been to make my body match my brain. Everyday I come closer to that I feel happy. And, I keep moving forward. :icon_chick:

Males are hunters, sighting their target and running it down.
Females are gatherers, searching a variety of sources to collect what might be needed.
Primordial primate gender differences at work in modern hominids! 😉

On a TV show I watched a while ago, might have been Nova, the topic was whether gender differences are innate or learned. One experiment was with juveniles of some ape species. They dumped a pile of dolls and cars in front of them. The females went for the dolls and the males, the cars. One might assume the females learned that behaviour from older female, but the males could not have been exposed to their behaviour by older males. This implies male interest in cars is innate. The conclusion on the show is that some traits are innate, but others learned.

I hate shopping. If I shop I look up what I want or need on internet. If I can't have it sent home I check what store has the item and I go for it. I hate window shopping. I hate walking in stores. Waste of time. [emoji51]

I gotta say, that's the bit Im struggling with. That seems to be the hardest thing to do. When all you've known is yourself and you have no idea what other people think, how can I look in myself and know that ABC means XYZ?

That makes me think Im somewhat bi or fluid. Like I flip between two bits.
Or at least I thought that until I started typing this message. Im not a hunter. Im a protector. I like gathering and finding the best. But I also like finding the quickest way to somewhere. So. Meh.

I found my path through introspection, many here use a therapist to help them sort things out. Good luck!

I pretty much match everything said about a woman in that article. I've always been overly sensitive and get emotional. I always personalize problems, I've often been told I need to "separate my feelings" from work and business dealings.
