I got my letter from the second opinion with the gender services.
The diagnosis is that Im not a strong candidate for gender dysphoria diagnosis/transition because they believe I need to further explore my identity and have time living as a woman and overcome my anxiety problems. The notes include stating a lot of my dysphoria is gender expression and being identified and referred to as a man.
Since the verdict is explore more then come back, thats the plan. Gonna sort moving out in the next few months and then some conversations are going to have to take place. I told my longest standing friend about this, and his response was simply: 'I dont think you need a psychologist to tell you this, it'll take some adjusting but if it helps you can present however you like at mine.' I melted a little.
Im doing just that now. Time for some conversations to take place. Ive always been disuaded from self expresion, but now its time to kick that idea in its junk and get out there. :D

My experience at first was I was okay maybe comfortable being a man to others because I was afraid of what they might think if they knew who I really was. Going against everyone's expectations and taking a leap of faith to transition not knowing what the end result would be scared me to death. As time went on the more and more I became her the less and less I wanted to be him. You're doing the right things, take baby steps and see what feels right. Good luck.

Hello again Jaybutterfly
As you know I think it is absolutely ridiculous that our UK NHS system insist on living publicly as a woman before HRT which is one reason I decided to go private.
However I am sure you'll gain the experience and evidence needed by moving out and exploring and then living publicly as a woman.
I wish you every success.
Hugs
Pamela

Yes when I got kicked out by the ex and moved in my flat I have been gradually presenting till last Nov when I went full time, was supposed to have name change at same time but that took longer (total paper work cockup!) . Waiting on first appointment with GIC that should be about Feb/March and hope they take my name change as evidence . Private hormones as well for a year this month. Go for it dear and do some full time if only to please yourself.
