Title: Poetry For Your Journey
Post by: tgirlamg on December 07, 2018, 03:13:05 PM
Hey All,

Those of you who have been around here for a while have seen me post these words before but, the tide brings new faces by the day...

It is easy for those considering or starting transition to get lost in the details of the process... The details, need attention but, I hope you never lose sight of the big picture as well... That this act of making our life into what we need it to be... after a lifetime of it being less than that... is a glorious thing!

I hope you all consider deeply the lessons to be found in each step of the journey and embrace all the things that will be yours to claim, that we're not yours before... You are all bold travelers!

This snippet from Walt Whitman's "Song of the Open Road" speaks to me about claiming the joyous discoveries to be made in a journey towards what is true in our lives...

Walt Whitman Song of the Open Road

"From this hour I ordain myself loos'd of limits and imaginary lines,
Going where I list, my own master total and absolute,
Listening to others, considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me.
I inhale great draughts of space,
The east and the west are mine, and the north and the south are mine.

I am larger, better than I thought,
I did not know I held so much goodness.

All seems beautiful to me,
I can repeat over to men and women You have done such good to me I would do the same to you,
I will recruit for myself and you as I go,
I will scatter myself among men and women as I go,
I will toss a new gladness and roughness among them,
Whoever denies me it shall not trouble me,
Whoever accepts me he or she shall be blessed and shall bless me."

Onward we go... Gently, but with undeniable will

As usual always something wonderful to think about from you thank you very much for these wonderful words

If you can't accept yourself,  how can you expect others to accept you?

@Arianna Valentine

Arianna...

Thank you so much for seeing that there may be something to consider here... I know you have had many struggles little sister... We all have had our own challenges and hurdles to get to this place in life, where we jump off transitions cliff in hopes that what what we find at the bottom, will be preferable... and more endurable...to the life we had before... YOU Arianna... have more of my eternal respect than you probably realize...

I worry about those here walking this difficult path far more than, I am sure, any of them know... I guess I am a bit of mother hen at heart... 🐔

Transition is a process with so many pitfalls while, at the same time, an opportunity like no other... So many people live their life in fear... so many people hide for a lifetime and die with regrets... I want everyone here to be able to shout from the rooftops that they claimed what was theirs in this life... To know,  that their life, despite the challenges and, YES!!!,... BECAUSE of them... was a life well lived.... Never fear Arianna!... You are doing all of this right!!!... Amazing things await!!!

Onward we go little sister!

Girl you are a truly wonderful motivational person I myself do have my rough days usually because of one certain person who shall not be named but I never doubt whether or not I am making the right move transitioning I know that I am making the right move transitioning now I do still question whether or not I should go full transition or if I want to leave something from the past behind its debate that is constantly in my mind but that's the only debate that I've had so far but I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your kind words and knowing that I am actually cared about really helps a lot

If you can't accept yourself,  how can you expect others to accept you?
