What do you think are some of the most annoying things some people do?


Could it be someone who is a very discourteous and even an unsafe driver?

Someone who leaves a very small tip or none at all to a hard-working server, when the tip was not included in the price of the meal?

Someone that swears or is a bigot and you are subjected to having to hear it before you can leave or ask that person to stop that talk or to try to educate that person (that last option is hard to do in practice because of that person often having a lack interest in hearing another's viewpoint)?

Remember, even if you find something annoying, perhaps something you do is annoying to others!   :)

Taking sweets with noisy plastic wrappers into the movies.

Rustling around forever trying to get those last hard bits of popcorn at the movies.

Repeatedly talking during the main feature at the movies.

In fact, anything that distracts me from what I have paid to see at the cinema, is the most annoying thing ever.

Visiting the movies and treating myself in that way is one of the things I really look forward to, but don't do as often as I would like. I don't get people who feel compelled to make annoying noises when they should be getting transported to another world on the big screen.

Honestly people who are rude inconsiderate and act stupid even though they're not oh and people who like to borrow stuff without asking

As far as what I do to others that would annoy them I would have to say and I'm not trying to be conceited because I'm not conceited at all really but I'm intelligent I know I'm intelligent and I probably used too much of that intelligence in conversations and it comes off rude I think or perhaps stuck-up

If you can't accept yourself,  how can you expect others to accept you?

Yes, rude and arrogant people can be annoying.

I used to love going to see movies but now if it's a cinema that's gonna be full of kids on phones in front of me and people dying of consumption, forget it. The plus side of seeing obscure films, being the only one(s) in there.

I have bad luck in cinemas. I always seem to end up between a candy-eating kid behind that wants to stick their feet on the back of the chair and a middle-aged guy in front narrating the movie to his elderly mother.

People who expect me to accept their differences, but will not accept mine!

Had someone say that he found it very annoying that while he was texting and driving, that some driver would quickly swerve and cut right in front of him.

I did not have any sympathy for him as he should have not be doing both texting and driving at the same time.

And don't you just love the people that don't have to wait at red lights or that don't move over when you're trying to merge onto the expressway

If you can't accept yourself,  how can you expect others to accept you?

When some one demands some thing and snaps their fingers.
It's so infuriating!
Unfortunately I get it a lot in the job I do, I can't say too much for confidentiality reasons.
How ever, when they know better it's just really annoying lol.

When anyone treats transpeople bad, or actually, anyone poorly.

Bugs me when people wander about so engrossed in shopping or whatever they have zero situational awareness and usually walk right into other people.

People on 'planes who put their seats back and tip up the trays of the passengers behind them, during mealtimes.  A large percentage of passengers do it as soon as they have finished eating themselves.  They should have their passports revoked.   (I'm feeling benevolent or I would say "Bring back the cat.")

Personally, I think that it is rude to put one's seat back at any time other than when the cabin lights are dimmed, unless one has asked permission from the passenger behind.

We had a boss like that last year. I always handled the situation very professionally, the emotion suppression techniques I developed over the years to hide my true self came in very handy. But this guy was so annoying, he pushed my buttons constantly with his behavior, even my co-workers noticed that I was not as calm as I usually am and they wondered how I did not hit him in the head with something. They didn't know how close I came to this :D
In the end I got recognized for handling the guy the way I did and he got fired.

Ooooo girl, I would have blown up probably.  >:-) Might even have given him a 9 pound sledge between the eyes.

I need to learn how to handle unruly people better.

You know I think the emotion techniques that I have developed are working for me but not advisable for others and the techniques that I use are I let people have it I'll tell him what I think where they can go have a can get there and offer to escort them it's funny because I was talking to my mother and telling her about this and she said that this is normal for my family because all the women in our family are bitches that actually made me feel good that my mother knows that I'm a woman and acknowledged it

I don't always practice what I preach but action has to be taken against that kind of annoying person.  They are not just hurting feelings but damaging other people's careers to make themselves look good.  If they humiliate you in your presence, they are probably doing something worse behind your back.  If all attempts at reasonable communication fail, one can as a last resort join in the game and recognise and counter  aggressive or passive-aggressive behaviour.   If absolutely necessary, the passive-aggressors own techniques can be used against them, as in Pope's critique of the critic:

"Damn with faint praise,
Assent with a civil leer
And, without sneering,
Teach the others to sneer."

Not giving way at the bridge at the railway crossing. Often cars will push their way over the bridge (just enough room for one car) as they do not want to be caught by a closed crossing. This leaves other cars stranded often on the crossing. The give way is for safety

One of these days I will hit one of these cars!!!

Not using turn signals for turning, exiting and entering traffic, passing, and lane changing.

Of course when people who play music so loudly or otherwise do not pay attention, causing them to not turn off their turn signals for long stretches, that is bad too.

All well.  Annoying but not the end of the world.

Or I would have to say also along these lines people that cut off semis they did not realize that yes semis have a lot of wheels so that does me more break but they're also a lot heavier and harder to stop and the blinker thing definitely the blinker thing and it might not be the end of the world but if they cut you off and you end up in a wreck it could be the end of your world

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people waste food.  I HATE when people waste food.  It annoys me to no end.  Usually when I'm with someone else, and they either can't or won't finish their food, I'll offer to eat it.  Especially French fries.

People who decides to sit next to me on the train, bus or subway.  GAH! Or even worse, when they starts talking and then never ever quits!! Not a fan of that.

OMG, I don't think this thread is big enough for me to list it all! One huge one is being treated like I'm an idiot by guys and mansplained. Especially if they mansplain something I know more about than they do. Another is idiots in the grocery store who block the whole aisle while standing there looking at something! Even worse when they look right at you. If I don't get any response after 2 "excuse me pleases " I just ram their cart out of the way. Then there are other people who talk on their phones the entire time they are doing their shopping. These idiots are oblivious to everything around them and block aisles, run into people, etc. If they are so "important"  they can't be out of contact with everyone long enough to shop,  they should stay their ass at home and have someone else shop for them.

At work it's beyond annoying when someone tries to talk on their phone while I am trying to cut their hair!! Do you WANT uneven hair?? Also annoying are people who can't measure. I have people come in all the time and say they just want a trim and to cut off about 4-5 inches because they don't want to lose much length. 4-5 inches is a LOT of length. I keep a ruler in my drawer so I can show them how much 4-5 inches actually is. It's always a big shock to them and when they show me on the ruler how much they actually want cut it's almost always an inch or less.

And of course if one looked up "annoying as hell" in an encyclopedia there would be a picture of Tyler in there. I realize that being annoying is just part of being an older brother but mine enjoys being annoying. When its cold outside one of his favorites is when he comes back inside he will sneak up behind me and stick his ice cold hands under my shirt and put them on my back. In summer months he just put ice cubes down my back. He will sneak up behind me when I'm vacuuming and grab my sides and scream. I'm surprised he hasn't given me a massive heart attack. He also hides around corners and likes to jump out and scare me. The annoying stuff he does to me could fill a book! Hiding out of site and spraying me with a squirt gun and finding it hilarious when I start trying to figure it out how I'm getting wet. Putting rubber roaches in the kitchen drawers which scare the hell out of me when I open them. Using a universal remote to change channels and mute the TV from around the corner when I'm trying to watch something . Tickling the crap out of me when I have wet nail polish and I'm trying to be very careful not to mess up my nails. And of course I can't forget one gross and supremely annoying thing he does. He will stick his finger in his mouth and get it wet and then sneak up behind me and stick it in my ear!  Ewww! Just Eww! I'm surprised I don't have ptsd after years of this stuff. And no, Tyler isn't 12 years old. He's almost 22.

Of course he's also annoying without doing it on purpose. He will leave leftover containers in the refrigerator with like one strand of spaghetti, one baked bean, etc so he doesn't have to wash the dish. If he spills something like cereal on the kitchen floor he will kick it all under the stove rather than get the broom. And he's been known to shove dirty plates under the sofa rather than interrupt his TV watching and take them to the kitchen.

Tristan and my dad do annoying stuff too of course but Tyler wins the prize for being annoying. As far as me being annoying to other people, I have no doubt I am. I will admit I can be sarcastic as hell and some people don't understand my sense of humor and find it offensive at times. I've also been told by my dad, Tristan and Tyler that I am an OCD clean freak which they all find very annoying.

Everyone is annoying if you're around them long enough.

Haha well if I'm a turist in brittan I think I can manage. I do manage rush hour here as well. But I prefer to sit alone on the train. Especially if its a long journey.

Forgot to add, and invariably it will be a man with BO, oh I cannot stand that, I have sometimes given up my seat and found an area near the doors where some more pleasant smelling people are standing.

Oh just thought.... did the guy not wash so as to get a seat by himself..... shiver

I prefer the freedom to open a magazine or newspaper without jostling people.  The worst, though, is when nearby people start coughing and spreading their germs.  The worst was when an obviously very ill person sat next to me on a long distance bus.  He must have been very bitter because he put his face very close to my ear and coughed into it.  It could only have been deliberate.  I became very ill myself for a long time and my lungs never totally recovered.

Yes he is and yes I have. I was sitting next to him while he was watching football. I waited until he was all engrossed with it and I very gently put a big rubber spider on his leg. When he noticed it he flew up off the couch beating the crap out of his jeans. I was surprised to hear such a high pitched scream come out of him since he has such a deep voice.  😂😂😂

Slow drivers in the LEFT lane.   The left lane is for passing only people!!!    Get out of the left lane unless you are passing someone!!!   


When the sign says "Right lane closed 1/4 mile ahead"   Dont wait until you run into orange barrels to attempt to move into the left lane!!!!

I don't like to see food wasted either. Of course I haven't ever been short of food or anything but there are lots of people in the world who are. Eating someone's left over food, yeah, no. I would take it home and give it to my dog but I wouldn't eat it. I have a thing about eating after people. My boyfriend, brother and dad are the only people on earth I would eat after. And with Tristan it depends on if he has put vegemite on the food.

Another thing that annoys me is when someone says, "lesbians are that way because they're too ugly to find a man.". Bull->-bleeped-<-!  There are lots of gorgeous, beautiful lesbians out there!  If I do transition I will consider myself one of them.  I find women beautiful.

Yes, there are many beautiful women.  :)   Some are lesbians.  Some are not.   You can look terrific and be a lesbian.    :)

Not stopping one's vehicle behind the stop sign (as per law) but rather rolling it into the crosswalk before coming to a stop, even when people are in the crosswalk.

One night while I was walking home from a bar, some character tried to pull this off when I was in a crosswalk, and he came to a stop less than a foot in front of me.

I remonstrated with him, he replied rudely, and one thing led to another until it was with great disappointment that I had to let go of his head, which I was vigorously trying to twist off his neck, but unfortunately his vehicle had picked up too much speed, and I couldn't keep up any longer.

It was around that point that I realized I needed to stop drinking.

People who can't figure out air travel and insist on holding up boarding to put their carry on in an overhead bin behind their seat and then hold up the line to get off the plane because they then have to go back to get that carry on.

I hate flying on weekends  >:(

Slow drivers in the LEFT lane.   The left lane is for passing only people!!!    Get out of the left lane unless you are passing someone!!!   


When the sign says "Right lane closed 1/4 mile ahead"   Dont wait until you run into orange barrels to attempt to move into the left lane!!!!

Jenny...OMG this is my number one pet peeve. It bothers me so much that when I was in college and had to give a speech in my public speaking class, I did it on left lane drivers and how dangerous they are. Lol

People from Kentucky argued with me about it afterwards. They didn't see any problem with doing it. They had no idea that driving in the left lane is illegal in the majority of states.

Cisgender coworkers who hog up the family bathroom at work when they have to go #2. They have two other bathrooms available to them at the workplace. I only have one. This was pure hell for me with my walking pain. I manage to walk all of the way back there, and some inconsiderate jerk is in there. I don't get to go, and I sit out waiting for them to get out, work not getting done.

This just happened to me recently. I was talking to someone and hurt their feelings, and they didn't tell me. A week later they tell me how hurt they were and, of course I apologized immediately, I was so irritated that they didn't tell me in the moment. I feel awful that I've let them build up these negative emotions for a week.

You are talking about a very normal issue of my life.  I have a pretty bad case of NVLD (part of the Asperger's spectrum), and am not able to "read" between the lines or sense peoples feelings/emotions.  I don't know that i said or did anything wrong, until they go crying o another person, who then scolds me.
I get even warnings in this forum because of this, and I have no idea what I did!

This was the best example what my NVLD is doing to me.  I am not able to detect that you were teasing.  I would have be left with the opinion you were questioning me!

It could be, specifically you mention the other situation you had.  If you feel you have these situations more than once, you might want to get testet.  It is a rather involved test, but at least you know what is going on with you.  There are no tools i know about that can help you to behave different.

It sucks , popele think your are rude or don't get their feelings, and you have no clue what is going on with them, why they are acting funny towards you!
