We got this slug at the Tate Britain gift shop after viewing the giant leopard slugs that were exhibited crawling over the museum building and grounds.

I promptly named it Johnny Slug, as I tend to name everyone. Johnny Cop, Johnny Ice Cream, Johnny Tickets, Johnny Clerk, etc. The game has been that I put Johnny somewhere in the house, and when Megan finds it, she puts it back in its container over the kitchen sink. Until this morning, when I noticed a sheen reminiscent of
glitter nail polish on its back in the "saddle" area. After a quick discussion with Megan, we decided to rename
her Joanie Slug.
The game will continue as before. Joanie is now upstairs waiting to be found, and presumably doing
her hair.

Well many people in Adelaide know my pet snail, Jonathan. He is gorgeous but hibernating at the moment.
He did become well known when l went in for biopsies and had to have someone at home to look after me after day surgery. I told the nurse that Jonathan would take care of me. It was only later that they found out that J was a snail and lived in a vivarium.
I got lots of points for that one >:-)

I think slugs are hermaphroditic. It could be both Johnny and Joanie.

If *they* start reproducing in the house, we have problems!

Jonathan with a sly smile of the radula (Yes snails are hermaphrodites and fire 'love darts' into their partner to get rock and rollin')

I won't question Cindy or Devlyn but this kind of conversation must be against the TOS in some way! Really girls, keep it clean and proper.

SpongeBob has a pet snail named Gary. He has a fan club in our front flower garden.

The Love Darts would be a great band name.

Johnny/Joanie reminds me very much of the sea slugs or nudibranchs. They are beautiful and in all colors. They are delicate. You find them in different places. They are a wonder.

The sea slugs are not that bad to eat if prepared well with soy and garlic. Just really difficult to pick up with chop sticks.

Never seen anybody eat a nudie (at least not that kind)
Now sea cucumbers have been eaten aplenty
