Title: Mexican/Tex-Mex/Southwestern Food

Hi. It's me, Madison Joan.
I love Mexican/Tex-Mex and Southwestern food. Ever since I was a kod growing up in Oklahoma, I've loved the flavors of the Southwest. I just get euphoric when I eat:
Chile con carne
Tacos
Chimichangas (my personal favorite)
Fajitas
Burritos
Enchiladas
Chips and salsa
Chips and chile con queso
Carne asada
Mexican rice
Refried beans
Hatch green Chile's
Jalapeños
I probably haven't had a whole lot of authentic Mexican food but I just love Tex-Mex and Southwestern food. It's one of my "autistic obsessions." I especially love cooking tacos on Tuesday.

I can't say I'm fond of anything on the list but on a number of occasions I have enjoyed dining in restaurants with a Tex/Mex theme. For decades, I despaired of eating a nice-tasting steaak in England but there are now some Tex/Mex takeaways in Bradford, UK (run by people of Pakistani descent) that make nice steaks.
I haven't been to London for a long time but there is, or was, a restaurant called the Texas Embassy, near the spot where the Republic of Texas had its real embassy. The Texans' landlords were Berry Brothers and Rudd, wine merchants who are still in business. The Texans did a moonlight flit without paying their bill. With interest, I think that the bill must now be VERY big.

Then again, everything is big in Texas, so they say.

I like everything on the list except jalapenos or hot chiles, like habaneros.
There is nothing like authentic Mexican dishes. I have seen many Americanized "Mexican" restaurants with Chinese, Indian/Pakistani, etc. cooks. The authentic Mexican restaurants are not chains but are usually family-owned, and the food is to die for.
If you get the opportunity to try the real thing, you won't be disappointed.

I went to Florida in the 80s and I think it was a burrito from a food an at a hot rod run, cant remember if it was good though!

Gone off chilli recently.I did have some nice pulled pork and rice with bbq sauce a few weeks ago which I enjoyed
