Hi all,
I've had an inclination towards the idea of transition since about puberty, and always had an adverse feeling and reaction to masculinity for as long as I could remember before despite not having any particularly gender non-conforming behavior. I knew well by High School that if I had my way I'd be a woman and transition, but only in the last few months decided struggling with my gender secretly was too painful despite the social, financial and potential fertility costs of letting the cat out of the bag. Probably MtF, at the very least trans very-femme. It's taking the family time, and I live in a rather blue state but in a rural speck on the map.
I'm now in my early 20s and towards the end of my undergrad. I have a foot in both heavy STEM and the humanities. I entertain myself with an eclectic range of hobbies (space, languages, computing et al), and hope to find a career that combines them. There are some rather cool jobs I've taken up across big name places in totally different fields, and would out possibly out myself if I listed them. I have a good amount of friends everywhere I go. I also correspond closely with a national figure, and have met quite a few more without any family ins. I'm both proud of what I've done and feel I have a lot to loose.
From the mid-Atlantic and surrounded by cats I hail. My life has seen significant intersection with neurodiversity, both first-hand and as a caretaker. I've probably found a gender-competent therapist to start (he has an awesome pubmed) and will probably transition medically and socially soon-ish if I can help it. Slowly I'm locking arms with others in the LGBT community. I'm scairt, to understate.
No matter what I do, I can't rid myself of the woman inside me. So yeah, here I am. Probably will ask for advice and stuff. And chip in what I can in threads. What say ye about all this?

Thanks for the welcome! I tend to gravitate towards the traditional forum style for Linux questions, so why not for the trans fun! Plus this site generates the best stuff in Google Searches
We'll see how this all goes lol

Thanks everyone!!!! You're all so welcoming and sweet!!
Now a little question - in your opinion, what's something unique what about this place has to offer, besides being a traditional-style forum on trans-related issues? :P

Welcome!
$ mkdir vaginia | mkdir breasts | touch srs.txt | rm -rf malebits
It would be so much easier if we had an operating system that we could upgrade with only the functions we wanted eh?

In my experience on here ... everyone is your friend until proven otherwise. My experiences elsewhere are the opposite.

Hello soyunichica, welcome..its a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad you're finally embracing the woman inside along with the LGBTQ communities. I finally did the same recently and my life has improved susbstantially. Hope your transition is smooth as well. Keep us updated as to your conquests and milestones along with your, hopefully few, trials and tribulations.
My best to you,

Lol, it's called Linux! The days of sifting through KB articles in Windows Update to pick what's helpful and avoid what's extraneous are sadly now Cumulative and in one way or another mandatory updates. But the welcome is awesome!
