Title: Name change, and finally starting to get gendered correctly!
Post by: Cailan Jerika on January 31, 2019, 05:20:00 PM
Last week I got my legal name change. I am now Cailan Eric (Cai rhymes with sky). Commence the paperwork nightmare!

Also in the last three weeks I've finally been gendered male (sir'ed) by random strangers (four times so far). I'm still at the point where they try to correct themselves after getting a good look, but at least it's finally happening after almost 2 years on T.

Hi Cailan!  Now on to a fairly easy step in name change here on the forums.
I've replied to your request and ready for the next step.

And Cailan........it does feel great when you're gendered correctly!

Hugs and smiles, Jessica

Cai Don't take this the wrong way it is only a joke. I find humor in the strangest things.

How can you be mistaken in -25 weather. Everyone looks kind of dude-ish in parka's.  Glad you got that business taken care of and you are on your way to the person you were supposed to be. I hope you are never mistaken again. All the best sweetheart.

So now I have to crush you. We're 80-100 degrees warmer than you are. No, I'm not sorry.  >:-)

I live in Western Washington state, we haven't even been cold enough to snow here. I don't even own a parka. We're expecting our first snow, maybe next week. It's been t-shirts and lightweight jackets all year. It's been unusually warm in our region, it's been near 50F all week!

Oops! The yokes on me. I live in Auburn WA, so I know about the Indian Winter we are experiencing. Besides the 70 mph winds we had a few weeks ago it has been a pretty mild winter.  We haven't had snow or even much rain this year. Just visiting LA. my Mother in Law died at 93 years young. I have been in Washington for 22 years now. If you have access to Ingersoll in Seattle or Rainbow Center at Tacoma. Perhaps I will see you at one of the meetings.  Stay safe.

Congrats!  Don't forget to get your new Social Security card and if you have a passport, to get that changed as well.

I think I still have the first piece of mail I got after then name change.  Of course, its only been 2.5 years for me.

It's also a superb feeling to be correctly gendered!  I bet you're still smiling!  Don't let them correct themselves, after all they were correct the first time.

Good luck!

Ryuichi
