Hi! My name is Kerry and I am mom to 16 year old Jade who is MtF.  She told us at age 12 so we were very fortunate and able to start Lupron to block puberty.  She has been on estrogen for two years and is doing great.  We are starting to think about bottom surgery now for summer after high school. I'm sure I will have lots of questions. I am also happy to share any knowledge I have from a parents perspective.  What a great community you have here! Happy to be a part of it!

Jade is fortunate to have such an understanding mom and able to start the transition so soon.  She'll be able to get full benefit from the hormones at her age.

     I am so very glad that you have become a member here and this is your very first posting.   I am happy to see that you found the Susan's Place Forums.

It really is great to see a young person get this support from a younger age - good on you!

The likelihood of young people having a happy and successful life is so much higher when they have their parent/s support.

It is wonderful that Jade has such great parents, and has the possibility to life almost her entire life in the gender roll she she belongs to!

Many of us, including myself, were not that lucky, and had to live many miserable years in a male role, which never really fit us!
