Title: Hi.
Post by: SusanL on February 11, 2019, 11:44:48 PM
Hey there all. I am new to this site and hope to make some friends here. I knew about myself being transgender when i was a teenager but back then it wasn't acceptable and i would of been bullied and called some not to good names. Being bullied was bad enough but coming out as transgender would of been suicidal back then. So last year i started thinking about it again and made the choice to talk to my current doctor. She explained to me about hrt and i had done alot of reading about hrt and its effects. So after my consultation with my doctor, i started hrt last july 13th and will be starting my 8 month in 2 days. I have noticed how hrt has changed me and i feel alot better now. I feel like i can finally be who i should of been back when i was growing up. I have been fulltime female since i started hrt as well. I never want to go back to where i was last year being male again. I have a great therapist to which i started with last oct. a couple of days before my birthday. I see my therapist atleast once a month but like seeing him twice a month. I feel so comfortable with him as well and know i can talk about anything!!! So that is basically where i am at for now. I am looking foward to having GCS next year if the waiting list isn't really long. I hope to make some friends here because where i live. I don't have very many friends. Thanks all and hugs!!!!

Welcome to Susan's Place!  You will find a lot of support here. It sounds like your journey is off to a good start. Many of us isolated ourselves from others before coming out, it is easier to hide secrets when you don't have many friends. Since coming out I have become much more outgoing, and have made many new friends.

In the US, the waiting list for most of the well-known surgeons can be a year or more, but sometimes you can get in earlier. Many of them require genital electrolysis, which can take 9 - 12 months.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey.  Love always -- Jessica Rose

Hi Susan!  Welcome!  You are more than likely to gain friendship at Susan's Place, along with answers to questions that you may have.  Everyone is different in how they deal with issues while transitioning, but often there is a common denominator that is shared.
Congratulations on your finding the path that has made your life happier.

Hi SusanL
Old people are generally a little slower, and that is the reason why I come so late to welcome you!
