Title: In Bangkok, anyone else?
Post by: Mallory on February 23, 2019, 07:45:58 PM
Hey all.  In Bangkok for GCS.  Anyone else in town that's solo and that would like to hang out, shop, get food, what have you?

I'm way on the other side of the Pacific, but I want to wish you luck with your procedure!

Hugs and smiles from a California girl

Feels amazing to be perfectly honest.  Lol.  And thanks for the well wishes, y'all. 😌. I have another post in the GCS sub forum for anyone who wants to follow it all more directly.

Hey all.  In Bangkok for GCS.  Anyone else in town that's solo . . .

Mallory I could hitchhike Delta be there tomorrow but, it being a 19-hour flight thru Seoul (from Atlanta first class plz), I'd prolly be USELESS for hand-held personal support . . .

Do you have your return ticket yet?

Wishing You Best Success!

Everything has been really great so far!  Everyone is so courteous and nice.  It's so strange to feel more at home here than I do in my country of origin, but that's probably just the explorer in me. 😋. I would definitely recommend visiting.

I flew from N.C., around 23 hours of travel, and I still feel a little jet lagged after 3 days. Lol.

My only issue is not really being able to do any extended sightseeing.  My phone is useless without WiFi and I question my ability to hail a cab on a return trip. Lol.  But that's alright.  I'll be back for sure when I don't have so much going on.  😌

I had the same exact experience. It was such a strange feeling, to feel welcomed and accepted. Even accepting is a wrong word...there just wasnt anything strange about me in Thailand. Nothing at all. Just part of everyday life.

Flying back there in June. 6 weeks of backpacking and then BA at then end of the trip :)
