Hi I wonder if anyone could offer up some advise based on their experience or knowledge. Ive been on Evoral patches for just over 11 months with Dutasteride also for hair. Im 45 and on my last bloods E was in the female range and T the high female range.... When it comes to E and blockers everyone react differently I understand that but in general you will hear that changes start pretty quickly for some after the levels reach the female range. From what I understand this is usually achieved much quicker with a blocker and E combination also which is why (my understanding) that the T blockers +E combo you can often see good results facially etc at the 12 month mark. If you only use E and its taken wayyyyyy longer to reach those female levels would you expect the changes to reflect this and only start to happen when the levels are in the female range. Also once you reach the female range for both T and E will taking blockers then make any difference or are they no longer needed?

Hope this makes sense and Sorry if it seems a stupid question.

My understanding is that dutasteride is often used as the antiandrogen with HRT.  I expect I won't need anything else, as I've been on it for a couple of years, for BPH.  I have an appointment with an endocrinologist next month, to get hormones.

As long as your T is in the feminine range, you're doing the right thing. For some people high T levels require a blocker in order to suppress T production. Others have high enough E level that E alone will block T production. There isn't a single answer to this question and that's why your test results are so important. If the test say your T levels are good, then you're where you should be. Additional medication will only add cost and side effects.
