Hel everyone. I am very new here, I hope I don't break any rule by posting here ;)

I have started my transition around 8 years ago aboard where I born and lived most of my life. I had my surgery done there and documents changed.

I live in uk from over 5 years now. Never informed by the doctor or my GP about my situation.

Now I have a problem and I need to do a srs revision and possibly got hormones prescribed here as is difficult to fly back to my country to see a doctor and get medication every few months.

Could you guys tell me what should I do, where to go?

I thought to go to the GP and ask for a referral for an srs revision. I don't have any idea about the procedure or even a waiting time!

Hi JJ that's an interesting sittutation!

The first step would be to talk with your GP about the situation. Funding for transition related medical stuff is via the local NHS authority, and your GP can can apply for that. If the issue you have is purely cosmetic, then it's unclear whether you'd get funding or not. Also if the original surgery wasn't performed under the NHS, they may refuse to fund anything.
If you're on HRT and have been living full-time for more than 12 months, then at the very least they should be happy to start you on NHS funded HRT.
Your GP may try and route you via the Gender Identity Clinic (GIC), but it doesn't feel relevant in your case, and there are crazy long wait times (1-2 years). Your GP can contact them directly for advice however.

Welcome to Susan's Place. We have a fair number of members from the UK and they should be checking in over the next few hours. I can't help much because I am in the USA and haven't had first hand contact with the medical system in the UK. I do know that for people starting the process, it can take up to two year to get the first appointment. For somebody who is transitioned, you probably need to talk with your doctor to see what is available.

One option for people just starting out is GenderGP. People just starting out can get transgender care until the medical system can see them. You then transfer you care to the medical system. The down side is GenderGP is private so you need to pay for services out of pocket. You should explore their web site (https://gendergp.co.uk) to get a better idea of what is available.

     I am so very glad that you have become a member here and this is your very first posting.   I am happy to see that you found the Susan's Place Forums.

Thank you so much for your answer! Yes, I did my surgery in Poland, the reason why I can't come back there and do a revision surgery is that these surgeries had been put on hold by the government...

I have a trouble with depth and is very narrow, basically it impossible to penetrate and very painful. Bladder is too long so getting infections often. Also, there is a lack of small labia ;(

I am scared that NHS might to refuse to help me as I can't afford to pay for it :/

I'm really unsure about the funding, but a revision to resolve recurrent infections would seem reasonable.
Width and depth of the neo vagina could be difficult to resolve, I have no idea if or what options exist for that.
Find a good GP (ask to change if they're not supportive), expect this will be new for them too, but maybe together you can get some help. X

Thank you for your answer. I contacted a doctor from the Philippines and he advised me that colonoplasty would help with depth. Not sure if there are NHS doctors who perform it.

Colon vaginolplasty is the only way to fix loss of depth, and will also fix the width problem.

I guess you're trying to find somewhere cheap, but I'd stick to reputable surgeons or wait. Phillipines is not one of them. It's not worth making things worse. Have a look at PAI or other well known surgeons in Thailand for this.

There are. I know for a fact that Mr Bellringer (Parkside Hospital) can perform this surgery where required.

Penile inversion or scrotal graft do appear to be the standard procedures in the UK, but again, contacting them is best to confirm.

Who was your surgeon in Poland?

To be honest my preferred option would be to fix this by NHS. As this giving me so much frustration and starting causing depression.

What is PAI?

PAI = Preecha Aesthetic Institute,  you can google them.

There are plenty of competent GRS surgeons in the UK, it's just that because of the NHS, they don't really need to brand or promote themselves compared to overseas private services.

Surgery wait times in the UK are actually very low 1-2 months one you have a referral and are ready for surgery.
