There are a number of related online articles on the Internet.  Here is one of them.

International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual event occurring on March 31 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide.

I never heard of that day. So far I have come out to 4 of my Sisters who are very accepting, however most of the men in my family are Transphobic.

I still have to stay in the closet that day since I have an older brother who tends to come over a lot and is a huge Transphobe. My sisters are afraid he might hurt me if he finds out that I identify as Transgender.

I do hope someday I can be the person who I am meant to be.

I that we should take notice of this special day and enjoy participating in any related activities that may be planned in your parts of the world.  This is a different day than the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

See an earlier post or articles online about this day.  Some communities may have had events related to this day on days close to this date, perhaps for scheduling reasons.

Raising awareness is great, as long as it is positive.  But I do not celebrate that I am trans, or I am also not proud about it, it just happened to me, and I did what nature dictated me to do!
I am not proud that I have legs either, I just have them, the same that I am transgender!

I wasn't aware of this day, but that's great.  My generations solution to the gender non-conforming community was to pretend it didn't exist, or brush it off as perversion, or actively attack it.  And what is funny, is that many of the ignorant and intolerant people that perpetuated the image now feel as if THEY are the ones under attack.  I find that hilarious.  It's like when white people feel threatened by the notion of black people or other minorities having equality, after oppressing them for centuries.  Those people need to be shaken up on a regular basis, imo.  More awareness, less ignorance! :) Thanks for sharing.
