Had today a real funny fail!
Because of the ever so slow bureaucracy here in Florida, I am waiting now for about two weeks already to get my court judgment on my name change mailed to me (one is not allowed to pick it up, the court house is only 20 miles away from me). Anyway, I am in limbo with changing my documentations to reflect the person who I am now!
I was at Costco today, and paid with my membership/credit card, and the cashier asked me, ma'am, is the gentlemen depicted on the card with you?. I told him that I am the "gentlemen", his answer was, can I please see your ID, and I gave him my unchanged ID. He studied it pretty long and gave it back to me saying: you sure have changed a lot ma'am!
I am glad that this was not a hostile situation, because I am afraid that the clear difference between my actual looks and the ID could cause any kind of problem!

When I went to the court house here in Miami for my name change, I had my documents in hand 30 minutes after the hearing.
Some counties here in Florida are really good with court documents and some are slower than they should be.

When I paid my car note over the phone today, the lady repeatedly called me ma'am even after I gave her my legal male name (josh). It felt so good knowing how convinced she was I was female from hearing my voice and being referred to as female felt amazing. Ever since turning 30, I've been struggling with this feeling that I waited too long and spent too much time as a male to ever be passable as a woman. Between this and being carded for a rated r movie last week, I have restored hope that it's not too late for me. I was worried testosterone had already done its damage on me, but now I know I still have time.

what is sad though are the years I missed to be female, while I tried to be a pretty miserable man!

Thank you! I know now I don't want to waste anymore time living like this. I'm working on getting my insurance back so I can start the process.

Hi, Magnolia. Congratulations on getting gendered correctly over the phone! That is a major accomplishment.
You haven't left it too late, not by a long shot. You are still a young whippersnapper. I didn't start transitioning until I was 62, and I mostly pass. Not on the phone though, but I'm not complaining. You will undoubtedly be fine.

I had the most amazing day at work for the last week and a half! Today was the best yet.
Background first. I got a new job working as a direct support professional on an overnight shift. I'm going to be watching over autistic children as they sleep. There's a lot of training, two weeks to be exact. I will finish training this Friday. The first week, I found out that we have transgender kids in our facility. The company allows insurance to be purchased for a significant other who is not the spouse, as well as the insurance covering GCS. Several of my coworkers talked about their families while training me. Many are members of the LGBTQ community, and one is in a polyamorous relationship who are all covered.
Today was the culture and gender sensitivity training. At this point, I've become quite comfortable with everyone there and had heard supportive comments of transgender people from everyone. The trainer was having technical difficulties and she was not very knowledgeable of the subject. I started helping her with what LGBTQ stood for, as well as some of the statistics. I also was able to help with describing the effects of supportive actions. Through the course of the class, I accidentally outed myself. The support and responses was so positive and friendly I was happy. As the class progressed and we continued our discussion, which was mostly led by me, the manager said that I should be permanently assigned to this training course during the class. I managed to teach the class a lot of things that they were unaware of. Best of all, the class said it was the best experience they've had in training this far. I made some friends out of it to boot!
Why can't I be this confident and outgoing in other situations???????

OMG big day today. I met another transgender woman at work today and had lunch (That I never knew existed up until a week ago) I found out she literally paved the way for me over the last couple years and just last November helped WRITE the Corporate USA policy for Gender acceptance! Anyways .... had very HAPPY emotional day and had very similar stories as everyone else here I bet) anyways she is so amazing and so strong willed!

Today my wife, son and I spent the morning at the beach. We picked a nice quiet spot, there was a nice breeze. I wore. A pretty purple halter top and the few people that happened by either didn't care or chose to not stare or comment. A beautiful and peaceful morning. I cannot wait until I develop well enough to rock a nice one piece at the beach.
