Title: How not to get picked up - NOT FOR ARACHNOPHOBICS

I was out doing my usual photography today and I noticed two guys 'sunbathing'. Considering it is quite cool in SA at the moment I thought it odd that men were lying about in a quiet park without much clothing. There has also been warning of a sex pest in the area. Anyhow I just found a lovely subject and took some pics and next thing one of the guys was on me. He must have walked 200m to get to me and I was alone.
"Hi darling are you photographing flowers?" was the first thing I heard. 'No. Spiders' I replied showing the photo I had just taken.
He ran. >:-) >:-) >:-) >:-)

Spiders are very good at controlling pests.

Good to know! Did you work out why the men were sunbathing in such cool weather? Croweaters do odd things.... ;)

I guess they have their uses besides eating flies.

I thought that they may be Tasmanians and suffering from the heat!
(that is an Aussie joke for non-aussies and apologies to my Tassie friends :-*)

Spider babies!
We have a load of them outside, little yellow cross orb weaver babies, they're adorable.
Lol running away from a photo of spiders? that's hilarious.

Lovely!
I study Arachnids and my major hobby is photographing and studying them. I had a very gorgeous Badumna insignis (Esmerelda) that was way too well fed and massive, having grown to about 2 inches across. She was fierce and fast!! I clocked her striking at 50km/hr from her hub to hitting her prey. I have some of my photos on my FB page and when (if) I get my website going I will have my full photo collection there.
(Badumna are usually about 3/4 inch across btw)

Opening car doors, for one. Spiders also have uses.

Actually, I prefer praying mantis. I have been seen walking around with one on my shoulder. The hatchlings this time of year are sooooo cute.

Cindy if you are trying to pick up half naked men in the park, you might need to adjust that pick up line! ;D

I was just wondering. Do I like my men to be like spiders? Arms and legs all over me?
- and I then kill them after mating!

Ah, the Force is strong with this one, but I fear she is being drawn to the Dark Side!
