Hello my name is Cayla I'm 35 and married with a child, I am outed and openly genderfluid in appearance and presentation but am actually transgender MtF in which I'm not entirely outed to everyone as yet. I have a doctors appointment in near future so I can be referred to a gender clinic so hopefully I can start to slowly transition to becoming a woman but rushing things is definitely not on my agenda, I'd like to meet and chat to like minded people.

Welcome Cayla :) I'm also new here (this is my first post!)--so far everyone I've met has been hugely understanding and supportive, I think you will find this to be a positive and helpful place.

Hi Cayla I'm Lexxi. I'm a 50 year old single trans woman (MTF). I'm not out yet, but really can't wait until I am. I have a 15 year old daughter and I'm afraid to come out while she's still in school. I don't want to hang anything on her that could possibly get her bullied. She's already had to transfer schools once because she was getting bullied and I don't want her to have to go through that again.
I called for my first therapist's appointment this morning so I can start on an HRT program. They've yet to call me back, but their website said they have a 2 month long wait list for appointments. So sadly it's going to be quite a while before I can start to accomplish my transition.
Welcome to Susan's Place!! I'm confident that you'll make lots of friends here, who will be glad to talk to you about anything you want to talk about.

Thank you ladies I'm glad to be around a community of like minded people who are going for have been through the transitioning period, I'm excited but nervous going through the process and getting used being called female pronouns.

Just wait til they start calling you sister. lol
That's been very hard to get used to. I don't mind at all, in fact it makes me feel good. It's the way I've always known I should be called.
Sometimes I feel like an imposter though because almost all of the people here are so far ahead of where I am. But I WILL get there some day have no doubt about that. I've never been among more accepting people. It is so freeing.

Thanks for the welcome Lexxi!
It's amazing the effect something as simple as female pronouns / words can have. Even here with the two of you using the word "ladies" to include me, my heart skipped a beat and I felt a huge wave of emotion...
I'm working up the nerve to write my own intro but until then, it's great meeting you both!

Thank you all for your warm welcome and sharing some experiences, I have personally a step by step approach is working for me so far, coming out as genderfluid has helped lots because slowly but surely people have become used to wearing feminine clothes and for now the next step will coming out to all as transsexual.

Quote from: AlexisTO on May 23, 2019, 11:37:21 AMI know exactly how you feel. It brought tears to my eyes when they said those things to me. It's kind of weird, that I haven't even started on my hormones yet, but I find myself tearing up over things that normally would have never affected me. I guess maybe I'm experiencing some of the emotions that cis girls feel on a regular basis. It's got me stumped. It appears that I've tapped heavily into my feminine side...which is perfectly fine by me.
Thanks for the welcome Lexxi!

@Cayla
Hey Girl!
Welcome to Susan's! I hope you get your ticket for the E-train soon. I wholeheartedly support your decision to take things as quickly as you feel comfortable with. I too am proceeding cautiously. That said, if I am not moving forward my dysphoria pokes me repeatedly in my now shaped differently ass to take another step. It took me over 6 months to give family and friends permission to share with others I was trans as long as it was not a threat to my safety. That may not be your speed. Be you and do things at your pace to be happy and safe :)
I see you. I accept you. I cherish you,
Ricki

Thankyou girl's thank you all for your support, it was a very hard to decision to start transitioning but one that feels so right, I have an upcoming first electrolysis appointment followed with doctors (I've found contacting my gp personally difficult) and then coming out to people. I've already had the coming out talk with my wife who is coming to terms little at a time so progress is happening very slowly. Its seems a lot of girls have similar experiences in transitioning here so I feel very connected to you all.
