That reminds me
I think I remember a South Dakota LGBTQIA marching band in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in 2022.

Hi, gennee.

I have no idea! They announced it in the news a couple of days ahead of time. But now, nothing. No news or photos. I wasn't able to attend, so now I am searching to find out what happened.

Ok, so I found some pics on Facebook. The parade was a huge success. Only one heckler with a bullhorn. He was appropriately dealt with by security and our wonderful Rapid City Police!

Did the parade organizers already decide to make this an annual event?

Yes! They worked really hard to get everything planned (permits, news releases, advertising flyers). Toni is one of the organizers at the Center for Equality. She came to one of our Trans Veteran Support Group meetings. That's how I learned of it and got the flyer to post.
