Title: Favorite Nail Polish Brand
Post by: NancyDrew1930 on June 24, 2024, 01:36:38 PM
So I use Sally Hansen's Complete Care 7-in-1 for my clear nail polish, and I recently I picked up two bottles of her "Instant Dry" polishes ("pink" & "In A Blush"), and while I like the Complete Care for how it goes on, and it's brush is rather narrow, however the Instant Dry ones I find do not go on that well, and the brushes are extremely wide, so I tend to get some on the skin surrounding the nail, even when I am trying to stay on my nail.

I'm just wondering what people's favorite nail polish brands are?

Expressie quick dry nail polish.  Dries quickly.  The translucent colors last a long time.

My favorite is L.A. Color. My signature color is metallic pink, then I put a clear hardener with glitter (called Cocktail) over it. I got so many compliments on the look, that I adopted that as my signature color. That's what I wear no matter what colors my outfit is. The hardener seems to work better than the Sally Hansen 7-n-1. I should say it lasts longer. I don't know if it is a better conditioner.

The 7-in-1 I use it for its moisturizing and nutrient delivery, since my nails seem to be very brittle.  Part of that comes from my HRT, however, part of it is also from my other condition. I also take biotin and collagen supplements to help.

I like Essie brand, they have some lovely colours, but I don't go for their normal bottles. I like their bottles that are square with a twist.

These stack in my nail polish draw together in a mathematically intersting way. lol.. but they are good colours too..

I also have a favourite, favourite - its Orly and it is called Freudian Flip  I must be on my 3rd bottle of this one. It is a "peacock feather" of a colour

I've always found nail polish to be such a feminising accessory and love the ritual of applying it. I've also been using Essie recently. I'm enjoying white as well as black coloring recently, although I've worn many different colors over the years. I've recently noticed the fashion for wearing different colors at the same time - but haven't tried it yet.

Unsure if I have a favorite.  I have tried many and the ones in fancier bottles seem to cost more but are not that much better, if any.

At a recent appointment, my psychologist and I were discussing nails. She wears the stickers and told me that having one "accent finger" is now all the rage. She showed me that her index fingers had one color/pattern different from the rest. I told her I thought it might trigger someone with OCD and I'll opt out. ;D

I usually shop at Ulta and Dollar Tree for cosmetics.

Ulta is too expensive here, but my cousin introduced me to the wonders of Dollar Tree perfumes. She even found one that I love. Her signature scent is actually a combination of two from Dollar Tree. She applies them in "layers" and the two scents combined are very nice.

I choose OPI because it dries fast and applies perfectly. Used Sally Hansen before and had a trouble getting it to dry without a nail dryer, so I used a strengthening colorless nail polish as a first layer.

I still have no favorites.  Unsure if I will try new brands when my supply runs out.
