Title: Hello from a new member
Post by: NikkiM on August 08, 2024, 10:26:14 PM
Hello, I am Nikki and a pre op mtf transsexual. Mine started as a kid being 3rd oldest of 4 sons.

I knew growing up that I was born the wrong gender and the feelings started at age 10. Kept on bottling it all up keep the door closed on it. It was finally in June of 1999 I could not keep it in and the pain was bad from bottling it up. Came out as transgender to my family finally opening that closet up. It was tough for my family at first to accept it, all saw what I went through and never realized it was this. Good thing was I gave them time and space not forcing anything. It was a couple weeks later they came to accept and coming to terms I was this way.

I did decide to transition, it was the best option for me and my therapist agreed with me 100%. Transitioned for 3 years and live a much happier life now. My family say I am a much better person with my life back. They do not miss the old person I was before. Plus life is good, married to a great husband of 20 years that loves and accepts me for who I am. We both go through a lot of crap at times and we have our supporters.

@NikkiM

Hello Nikki,

I'm Lori Dee. Welcome to Susan's Place!

It looks like you are a new member here and this is one of your first posts. Thank you for that wonderful introduction. If you could please, for readability, it would be very much appreciated if you would put one or two spaces between periods at the end of your sentences. The forum software thinks those are links to nonexistent websites, so we try to keep that to a minimum.

I love your name! My daughter goes by Nikki too.

We strive to make this a safe place to find information and to share your thoughts and comments. We all come from different backgrounds and represent a wide range of experiences. No matter who you may be, you are always welcome at Susan's Place.

Please review the links at the end of this message, they include information that will help you navigate the site and use the available features. Please pay particular attention to the links marked in RED. When you reach 15 posts, you will be able to send and reply to private messages and you will also be able to add an avatar to your profile. Until then if you have any questions about the Susan's Place site and the Forums, please feel free to contact me at  LoriDee605@outlook.com

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Hello Nikki

My name is Sarah B and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

You are not alone in your journey to find out who you are as others have been down that path as well.  It's good to hear that you have a happy life now.

If I can make a suggestion like Lori has made, can you please put one or two spaces after you enter a period or full stop.  The Forum Software interprets a 'period with no spaces after' as a link.  So please ensure at least one space after a period or full stop would be appreciated.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!
