I have something of an obsession with PC RPGS (mainly from the '90s) :).

My all-time favourites are Fallout, Planescape:Torment and Arcanum, and I'm rather fond of the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games as well.

I haven't bought a new game in ages though, well ever since my DVD drive on my PC exploded, my Xbox exploded, I gave my PS2 away, and I got the Pokemon game for the DS (lingering obsession, cant see myself getting over that one any time soon).

fallout was a fantastic game, as was the sequel. I'm really looking forward to bethesda's fallout 3, i just hope they don't screw it up.

I enjoyed all the rpgs black isle studios put out and i was disappointed when they shut down.

Ah I understood it to mean 'only' board games.

I'm a fan of console RPGs and MMORPGs, namely Final Fantasy series (1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 11, Tactics), Star Ocean (2, 3), and others.

Hmm, I wonder how many people here play online? Maybe we can make guilds.

"Susan's Guild"? ;)

I apparently have a knack for finding gender-variant people in online games. I played Ragnarok Online private servers and World of Warcraft private servers, found a crossdresser and a trans woman, just by chatting in private messages (aka whispers), randomly. Found a trans man on an online chess site, well more like he found me :P

I'm weird, knowledgeable and open, as well as open-minded, maybe that helps in people confiding.

I cried when Black Isle closed.

Kinda interesting to see the spread of players and genres. I was thinking of starting Final Fantasy online, any comments on this game?

1. Counterstrike is my favorite. Total I have nearly 9000 hours played (I'm ex-CAL).
2. Crysis. A darned good thing I have SLI (duel video cards). A beautiful game. Single player is awsome.
3. Unreal Tournament 99, 2003, 2004. A great first person series.
4. Redneck Rampage. An oldie but a goodie. :P
5. Quake -The name says it all.

As you can tell I'm into FPS games. The only other game outside of these might be Call of Duty 4 or something from the Myst series.

Final Fantasy has always been good as far as I know but it has been a very long time since I played that and there are like 5 billion versions out. Oblivion is pretty good from what I heard.

Online RPG's:  Started with Star Wars Galaxies, played that for about two years.  Went to World of Warcraft after that.  got me a 58 warrior.  I open my account back up every now and then because I have two good friends that play who are in different parts of the country.  I've recently started playing Everquest II.  I did find an obscure article about someone starting up an online game based on the Fallout Series by 2010.  I loved the first two Fallout games, and since Bethesda Software bought the franchise I can only hope they keep it great.  The new Fallout 3 game was made using the Oblivion game engine, meaning it will most likely offer a first person view, which will be a crazy switch up from the top down view of the old games.  I only wonder if Fallout 3 for the PC will be released with the Construction Set that bethesda always releases with it's Oblivion esque games.  Once you read the tutorial on that thing you can literally go into the program and make all your missions/clothing/weapons.  It's pretty neat.

I get my first person gratification online with Battlefield 2 everynow and then as well.

I loved Call of Duty 2 and Bioshock for my 360.

I did play Final Fantasy online for a little while.  I think it was around the time I was playing Star Wars Galaxies.  FF online just didn't seem as colorful or vivid as Star Wars Galaxies, so I  didn't keep playing.

Cindyh:  I must say Im jealous, I'm still chuggin along with ->-bleeped-<- cards in my computers right now.  I thought I had a pretty good set up until I installed Crysis and it recommended low settings :-(.

WoW had a GLBT guild.   Blizzard made them go away.  I forget the statement they made.  Something about not wanting real life issues in the game.  If they allowed a GLBT guild then they would have to allow all interest group guilds.  They didn't want to go there and didn't think it was good for the game.

..... but if we kept it quiet....   >:D

I dont understand Blizzard on that...the WoW community isnt exactly known for its overall queer-friendly atmosphere both by players ( 14 year old boys as a large portion...need I say more?) as well as the game itself( no queer storylines.....Blizzard probably thinks: "Well we want to appeal to a broad audience and dont want to have people having offended" Well thats just giving in to a bad society! Jeez >:(

I personally play WoW despite it, I have a Druid, Shaman and Mage and some low levells on 3 European servers

Also playing Pirates of the Burning Sea at the moment where I have 2 characters

Maybe Warhammer could be interesting to play

Age of Conan is a no-no in my book....too much testosterone, gore and sexism ^^  ;) ;D

I like to play RPG and some fighting games, as for those online multi player rpg's like WOW and FF Online, I refuse to play them. Main reason is I don't believe in buying a game then paying someone to play the game I just bought. Besides... sometimes I still pick up some of my old games and I like to be able to play my old saves.

Omg Fallout :3~~~ drool. Fallout 3 is going to be heaven!

QuoteI also play DOTA with a group of online friends with ventrilo every weekend

Have you heard the basshunter song about ventrillo and dota? It's hilarious, there's even a video. Actually... here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OzWIFX8M-Y

I would love to get together a gaming group. If anyone wants to exchange steam ID's, xbox live gamer tags or something of like I'd totally be up for it.. just can't post mine in the forum.

Fav competitive games: Halo, Halo2, Halo 3. Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament III.
Fav games evar: Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Fallout I-II, Half-Life 1... ah so many.

We just started playing sins of a solar empire. It's like Warcraft III mixed with Starcraft. Anyone up for a hamachi game?

Gamex

P.S. I'll give free Halo lessons, fer real.

Ah yes, good old fallout... I didn't know a part 3 was coming out... now I know to keep my eyes open.
And speaking of Final Fantasy 7 and Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6 was awesome, I wish there was another one where two people could play.

The classic controller is to play classic games, it dosn't work with wii games.

Most likely no, at least I can hope tho. I damaged the spinal cord and there really isn't much they can do :-(

But is it just me... or does it seem like that these newer video game systems cost waaaay too much? I don't understand why people would pay it. I mean do we really need a system that can do the same thing my dvd player can do or my computer for that matter? They are pretty much selling you computers that you cant upgrade LoL

Well, most of the consoles have dropped in pricing, except the PS3, which still holds its ground at $500.00. Very pricey.

Yeah it is, I cant see spending that money just to have to shell out more money in a couple of years for the next big system... as if the games did cost enough.
