Title: Another new person
Post by: SiennaUK on November 04, 2024, 05:38:41 AM
Hi everyone,
I've been on HRT for 3 months now and am still awaiting to see changes, I know it's a long process and to be honest I'm just happy to have started my journey of self discovery to find the best version of me. I'm 53 and have left my transition very late in life, I have fought it.  Suppressed it and been at times in complete denial , hating myself and thinking I was so alone.
The stars have aligned and I'm on my journey at last. I hope to make friends on here and meet up for socialising soon.
Thank you for reading x

Hello Sienna,

I'm Lori Dee. Welcome to Susan's Place!

Thank you for that wonderful introduction. Typically, you will notice more and more changes starting at about the six-month point if your blood tests show your hormones are in the proper range. It seems slow at first, but you will notice subtle changes such as softer skin. Many of our members have described their journey and noticed these things too.

We strive to make this a safe place to find information and share your thoughts and comments. Our members come from all over the world and have a wide range of experiences. No matter who you are, you are always welcome at Susan's Place. Perhaps some of the stories of their experiences can help you too.

Clicking the HOME button will take you to a page where you can see the various sub-forums. Feel free to comment and share your experiences too.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL-AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets. Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.

I will add some links here that are important for new members. Pay special attention to the links in RED. When you reach 15 posts, you will be able to send and reply to private messages and add an avatar to your profile.

Until then if you have any questions about the Susan's Place site and the Forums, please feel free to contact me at  LoriDee605@outlook.com

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Hello Sienna

My name is Sarah B and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

It's wonderful to hear that you have begun your journey toward finding out who you are.  Starting HRT is a big step, and though changes may feel slow at first, the process will bring about changes in your body in time.  Your story of persistence, resilience, and reaching acceptance is one of those steps that many face and reading your story certainly helps others.

You are definitely not alone here.  We have a supportive and welcoming community ready to share, listen as you continue your journey.  Many here understand the feelings and challenges you are facing and we are here to help make your journey easier.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Best Wishes Always

You will find friends here. Add to that you will find some humor, encouragement, advice, fashion, resources, etc. I have recently discovered my true female self at 60. I have found it to be rewarding, yet a little work which makes it worthwhile. I am ready for my next steps which is so exciting but I understand it is a time commitment and not instant.  You sound well in your post. Hang on and enjoy the adventure. We are in this together.

I hope to be a person that can offer you some of what you want to find here. It was a pleasure reading your post.

Many hugs,
MsLeigh

Welcome, Sienna. I was 54 when I began my journey, and I was certain that I was going to be an ugly woman, but I still had to try. That was a lifetime ago. Although it may take several years, and at times you may struggle, life will get better.

Love always -- Jessica Rose

Well Hi - most of us left it later than we should have done :-)

Read this to get some idea of how many of us there really are (https://www.susans.org/index.php/topic,249270.msg2283968.html#msg2283968) - all thinking we are alone, but not as alone as we might think!

Welcome Aboard Sienna!

Congrats on the 3 month mark! A lot of us come to this tipping point in life around the half century mark! I was 52 when I started 11 years ago and these last 11 years are by far the best of my life... Amazing discoveries await you dear sister! Enjoy it all

Onward!

Thank you all so much for your kind and considerate replies . I'm honestly overwhelmed and emotional reading them all .
Just to feel the support and encouragement means so much at this early stage of transition.
Thank you all you beautiful people xx
