Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Ell has been banned for 7 days due to retaliating against a staff member over actions which were during the performance of their duty to the site. They have also lost the ability to modify reputation, and had their smite transferred from the staff member in question to themself. I have no tolerance at all for this kind of activity.

Susan, this has nothing to do with Ell, but was just wondering what a smite was? I have seen it used several times and I just neglect to ask what it is?
I guess this is a dumb question.

A smite is clicking the red down arrow next to someone's reputation total. That takes away a reputation point from someone. It's only to be used if a post violates the rules, or the spirit of the site. Use judiciously because if a administrator disagrees they will remove the negitive reputation point from the person in question and give it to the person who gave it to them.

Now I know. I also found out why we have those arrows. How long have I been on here?

It seems that one is far more severe than the other.  Smite, is that not what god did to the Egyptians?  An up arrow, I always took the up arrow (not that I use them) to be "I liked it" and the down one to be something closer to ICCK, then SMITE.  But that's just me.

aw jeesh, i didn't know that i couldn't give a minus to a moderator. i wasn't trying to be mean, and i don't have anything bad to say about the moderator in question. i was just trying to stand up for myself because i had been misunderstood.

my therapist told me to always stand up for myself. but when i do, it just seems to get me into more trouble! so, please don't be angry with me. i actually think the moderators on this site are really terrific. even the one that was all mad at me and stuff.

I'm glad to see you back.  So, welcome back.  As for the rules.  I understand how some people are trying to keep order.  I also understand that a finger in the dyke ain't keeping Holland dry.

Welcome back, Ell. And you can smite moderators, but not when they're doing moderator stuff. Just send them a PM or PM me or Susan if you think a mod action is unjust and we'll look into.

If I say something in my personal capacity that leads you to want to smite me, go ahead. I'll try not to do that though :)

That's it exactly if the post is an official moderator action it's not smitable, everything else is provided it follows the general guidelines for smites laid out in the announcement forums: That the message in question violates the rules, spirit of the site, or it's policies.
