Title: Brown vs. White rice
Post by: ChrissyRyan on December 28, 2024, 07:14:50 AM
Brown rice is supposed to be better than the more processed white rice.
However I do like eating brown rice.  I am not used to its taste.
It is different.

Do you prefer white or brown rice?

Brown.  More nutrition and tastes better.  What's not to like?

White rice is just brown with husk removed so the brown is better for digestion due to fibre.

Perhaps the taste, or in the preparation by me that impacts the taste.

Brown rice is a generic term.  Short grain brown rice can be on the chewy side and not all will find the flavor palatable.

Look for a brown Basmati rice or a brown Jasmine long grain rice.  Both taste better then white rice and short grain brown rice, and they are not chewy like the short grain brown rice.

You should be able to find these in most grocery stores.  Stores like trader Joe's and such will carry these and many more verities.  Try a few, not only are they heather, but I think you'll find they taste better too.

I really don't care as long as it has egg cooked into it.
