Title: Is there any way to remove the whole Token thing?

I know why this is a thing. But it was not a thing until recently. But it's extremely aggravating. I know SMF uses the token ID to prevent people trying to log in with multiple accounts. But it also assumes that when people log into a site they do so "Forever". Rather than "1 hour" or whatever. When you log in for an hour, and are half way through trying to post something... only to be told you have to log in again, but you can't open a different window because SMF thinks you're trying to cheat the system, so you have to copy the post you were trying to make, and dump it into notepad so you can log in again to post what you wanted to post... just because SMF doesn't like you having more than one window open... and you accidentally dump the copy of what you wanted to say on top of your password, and have to reset your password because notepad... AAAARGH, it's just aggravating. It's the second time in two weeks I've had to do this. Just because SMF doesn't like multiple windows.
Sorry, this is more a vent than anything. If you can do anything to stop it being quite so annoying, though, it would be appreciated.

I try to log in for a day instead of an hour to avoid this. There are some workarounds I am sure but the longer session time works for me. The session ends for me when I close the browser regardless of the selected timeframe, something I want to happen.

@Sephirah @ChrissyRyan @NatalieRene
I ALWAYS login "Forever" ....
...if and when you do close your browser window
you will be automatically logged out.

I log in for a month each time. I have had it boot me when I had logged in for 1 hour. I agree that was annoying. I just go with a month and log off manually because I may not be closing my browser until a little later, depending on what I am doing.

Sorry, folks. Ignore this. It was an issue with my password manager software. A very weird, very annoying issue. I fixed it. Sorry to bother you with this.

No it wasn't to do with the forum per se. My laptop probably just hates me is all. And sometimes, quality of life isn't quality of life! I have the technical expertise of a slightly confused walrus. Don't worry about it, Danielle, but thank you for being so on the ball. One of the best things about the staff of this place. <3 Was all on my end.
