Susan's Place is growing very quickly.

The Forum Stats previously showed that our most-ever online numbers peaked on Halloween Night 2024.

Since then, the Forum membership has been growing steadily, and we are attracting more guests. Guests who find the site useful become participating members.

Now, today's stats show: Online: 4,944 Guests, 7 Users -
Most Online Today: 5,597 -  Most Online Ever: 5,597 (Yesterday at 11:48:54 PM)

We set a record yesterday and tied that record today!

Good stuff.

Susan's has been my home for almost 17 years now. And because of the same reason. The people. You all make this site what it is. We attract the weird and wonderful from all walks of life and all corners of the world.

Anyone who is just viewing the site... I was where you were once. Scared to take that next step. Scared of what it means to you, what people would say. Would I fit in? Is this the right place for me?

Taking that leap of faith is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. The number of people here I've met, formed friendships with. The laughter, the tears, the camaraderie. There's a reason I'm still here since 2008.

Take that step. It might be the best step you ever took. And I don't mean the whole subscribing thing. If you can, and want to, do that. But just... take that next step. We have so many people here who are so full of knowledge, empathy and understanding. People just willing to give you a hug if you need it.

Don't be a stranger, okay? We're an eclectic bunch. But we're also a family. A very... dysfunctional and awesome family.

Actually it did for me. I briefly got a message saying the server was down due to heightened activity or something like that. It was only down for 5 mins though.

Great news on the site traffic!

I wonder if this was an hit to try bring down the site.  The site actually was unavailable or not reachable for a while.

You mean it's traffic from another website that people can no longer access? I hope SP servers can cope!

The other site is still accessible.  I think that old users interacting with search engines have put sites like ours higher up on the search results.  I think the old users have had a month to write down the new domain name, but I'm sure enough of them never got around to it to create a trigger for the search engines.

I was wondering if it was a DDoS attack too!

I checked the online status logs and it was not a DDOS type attack. In fact, aside from a few search engine robots, the guests were reading our stories and the various topics we covered. Most appeared to be seeking answers about everything from passing to crossdressing to jokes.

The more governments bash us, the more people will look for answers. Some want to know what makes us different. Some want to know why they feel different. Some are reading the News, whether it is about politics or protests.

It's just people looking for answers, and that's why we are here, and have been for over thirty years. We are a more reliable source than most of what is out there online.
