I have seen numerous videos of people vomiting and talking about how this is the most abhorrent thing in the world but... just out of sheer morbid curiosity I think I want to try it. Apparently it tastes far better once you've gotten over the initial gag reflex, lol.

I like to try some food that does not sound too icky when traveling. Regional or foreign foods can provide some memorable and tasty meals.
Such as Wienerschnitzel, Texas BBQ, and so on.

I like to try out the various BBQ sauces. I tend to like the sweetie dark ones.

It smells like something rotten that you absolutely should not eat, but after a minute or so you don't really feel the smell. Tastes quite ok when combined with relevant "sides". Like salty fermented fish. It is not rotten and you will not get sick from it (other than that initial blast of smell/odor)
Word of caution: Open can outside, or maybe/possibly underwater in the sink, and make sure you open it in a safe direction. The cans get pressurized from the fermentation and there is a sizeable splash of smelly liquid when opening. And since you don't live in Surströmming land: Make sure your neighbours and the landlord are on vacation ;)
